C-130s of Operation Credible Sport

The C-130 aircraft retrofitted with rockets for use in Operation Credible Sport (1980), the retrieval of American hostages from Iran. The project was shelved when Reagan was elected to office and the Iranian regime gave in to US demands only two days later. The rockets would have allowed the aircraft to both land and take off inside soccer stadium's field in Tehran.
