Button Battery Injuries Worsening, Study Finds

“From toys to calculators, from watches to remote controls - even in greeting cards - button batteries are everywhere,” said Dr. Gary Smith of the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the senior author of the study. “They may seem harmless but they can cause serious damage in a less than two hours if swallowed by a child.”
