Angry Birds theme park hits Finland

Angry Birds Land recently opened inside Sarkanniemi Amusement Park in Tampere, Finland. The first official theme park based on the Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Land is the latest example of how popular the addictive smartphone app has become.

Angry Birds, created by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Mobile, invaded smartphones, then pop culture worldwide. Now it is moving in on the theme park business. An unlicensed Angry Birds park opened late September of last year in China, but Finland is the first country to host an Angry Birds park where the game's creators collaborate with park designers.
"We wanted to create a unique themed area and associate it with a strong and well-known brand," Sarkanniemi Adventure Park CEO Miikka Seppala was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.
The popular game is even being developed into a major motion picture. Just because it's from Finland doesn't mean it will not be coming to a city near you! Angry Birds recently announced plans to expand to the UK, as part of its push to expand beyond games and become a major brand.
