Hot For Marketing Fire Logo Animation

This is an example of our team effort. The client asked us to take care of both the logo design and animation. Rich did a great job coming up with a slick design. We had to work out several variations of the animation before we came up with this one. What really sold this animation was the “heat haze” effect that appears over “hot” towards the end.
Technical: The word hot was revealed by keyframing a mask over time. I added fractal noise solid and changed the color and blending mode to create the “magma” look inside the word hot. Then I used particular 2 for the fire ball and smoke trail. The heat haze was done by creating an adjustment layer with turbulent noise. In addition I added a small gray feathered ellipse that overlapped the turbulent displacement area.
