Unrest is building inside and outside of China over the CCP's policies in Tibet. In Sichuan Province a 19-year-old monk was taken to hospital after self-immolating in protest against the Chinese regime's policies, while in the United States activists are calling on US President Barack Obama to put pressure on visiting the Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Tibetans have protested outside the White House to coincide with a visit by Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Inside Tibet there are protests too, with another monk setting himself on fire—an agonizing statement against Chinese Communist rule that has been happening with increasing frequency in recent weeks.

London-based International Campaign for Tibet identified the self-immolator as 19-year-old monk Lobsang Gyatso, who set himself ablaze on Monday afternoon in the Aba prefecture of Sichuan Province. ICT says security forces beat him as they doused the flames, and also severely beat two Tibetans who tried to help.

The monk was taken to a local hospital, according to state media, with no word on whether he survived.

Gyatso was one of 20 Tibetans to self-immolate in the past year, according to ICT, with at least 13 dying. Rights group Free Tibet says 200 Tibetans held another protest in neighboring Qinghai Province on Saturday.

Chinese leader Wen Jiabao on Tuesday blamed the protests on separatist forces outside China, and said they had no popular support.

Outside the White House, protesters called for US President Barack Obama to pressure Xi Jinping when they meet in the Oval Office.

[Tenzin Doijee, Students for a Free Tibet]:
"I want to send a message to President Obama that he should put the strongest pressure he can on Xi Jinping and seize this opportunity to urge the Chinese leadership to stop the atrocities in Tibet right now."
