Silent Paper Radios is the autonomous song-writing project of Dan Gubbins. After some futile experimentations with electronic music creation, he became frustrated, uninspired and burnt out which forced him to re-evaluate his musical direction.
With a 5000 strong record collection that homed music from Bill Withers, Can, DJ Shadow and Devendra Banhart, he was overwhelmed with which route to take but with a sideline interest in poetry, the choice became obvious. Dan picked up a guitar, learnt to fingerpick, gently placed his heart on his sleeve and started writing sometimes abstruse and sometimes brutally literal songs in 2005.
What you hear now is his continued learning curve. Not just with song-writing, but with life and dreams as a whole; the dark struggles, the joyful triumphs and all the beautiful and wondrous moments that beat between
