PRESENTED BY LAYLA ANNA-LEE
Gaelic and Guinness isnt all there is to come out of the Green country. Popping a cork and spraying Alternative Electro to London is LiSa DeEs refreshing blend of bold rhythms and honest realism. NoT SinGiNg Not RaPpInG But bLoODy FantAsTiC.
Since her arrival to London, from Ireland 4 years ago to pursue her musical aspirations, LiSa DeE is a little lady with a big vision.
LiSa is presently working on her second EP with dance remixes from producers based in London, Berlin and Sweden. Her latest material is edgy, uplifting with lyrics that you can relate to. This project is pretty exciting and more positive because now I feel like Ive achieved something, however small LiSa DeE.
In 2000, DJ Wool produced and released the first Irish hip hop Album comprising of 4 MC's Lisa Dee, Big Al, MC Poetic and Richie C. 'We wrote some songs together, did a few shows with Public Enemy, Pharcyde etc. and got busy making this album. Along the way a lot of characters got involved and helped make it an original if not perfect Irish hip hop album DJ Wool.
It was the year 2007 which saw the release of LiSa DeEs untitled 5 track EP The tracks were recorded in a studio bedroom and I wrote a lot of material while travelling to work on the London underground. It represents a certain time in my life and it is something I will always be proud of no matter how small it was! LiSa DeE.
With new material and a host of London gigs throughout 2009, the best way to follow Dees musical journey is to witness her live performance. Having performed at venues such as YoYo Notting Hill Arts Club, 93 Feet East, 02 Academy and 333 Mother Bar, DeE creates an edgy performance with the backing of Marc Bulls oomph on the drums.
