Golden Gate Bridge jumper survives 220-foot drop

http://www.nma.tv/ A teenager miraculously survived a 220-foot drop into San Francisco Bay after jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge on a dare. Authorities say such a fall has only a 2% chance of survival. In typical California fashion, a passing surfer snatched the 17-year-old out of the water and brought him to safety. The boy's classmates egged him on during a school field trip to the bridge. They were apparently so excited they reportedly made several tweets about the dare. The Golden Gate Bridge has a serious "jumper" problem. There is an incident every two weeks on average, with around 1,500 deaths in the 74 years it's been in existence. California has plans to install safety nets. But this might only encourage more teenage thrill-seekers.
