Video posted to a social media website showed what it described as military tanks coming under fire in a missile attack in the Syrian city of Homs.
Reuters cannot independently verify the content of the videos or whether they are related to the same incident.
The footage was uploaded on Thursday (November 17) and Friday (November 18).
In one clip, a voice is heard chanting "Allah-u-akbar" (God is Great) while the sound of gun fire can be heard in the background. The tanks are covered in smoke.
Meanwhile, activists in Syria said on Friday security forces shot dead at least five people protesting after weekly prayers, as France and Turkey called for greater international pressure on the country to end the violent crackdown on opponents of President Bashar al-Assad.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said security forces shot dead at least five protesters and wounded dozens when they fired to disperse protests in the cities of Deraa, Homs, Hama and the Damascus suburb of Erbin.
