A court in China's northwest region of Xinjiang has sentenced four Uighur Muslims to death for a series of attacks back in July.Another two were given 19-year prison sentences.In July, at least 32 people were killed in the cities of Hohot and Kashgar... where there were three separate incidents of violence.Chinese authorities blame Uighur Muslim separatists, alleging that the Uighur attackers are terrorists.But World Uyghur Congress spokesperson Alim Seytoff told NTD last month... that the Chinese regime is trying to make the global community believe that Uighur Muslims are terrorists, in order to deflect criticism of the regime's human rights abuses in Xinjiang.The World Uyghur Congress now says the men were tortured in custody, and weren't given a fair trial.The violence broke out despite the strong security presence in the region since clashes between Han Chinese and Uighurs killed nearly 200 people in 2009.
