The smartphone game Angry Birds is wildly popular. So much so that it's now flown off the screen into real life.

An amusement park in central China's Hunan Province has built an attraction based on the game. Visitors are given the chance to load a replica Angry Bird into a giant catapult, and take aim at balloon pigs.

But it seems it's a bit harder in real life than merely tapping on an iPhone screen.

"It's very difficult to get the right angle and the power to shoot. So none of us have managed to hit the target."

Despite the challenge, many are having a good time.

[Angry Birds Player]:
"It's fun because it's physically real. I can actually feel the bird shooting out."

It's unclear whether the original game's creators, the Finland-based company Rovio, had authorized any of this.

Nonetheless, the theme park is on the lookout for top players at firing the catapult. They aim to start holding contests.
