Pakistan's Prime Minister arrived in India ahead of today's Cricket World Cup Semi Final between the two countries. Leaders of the two countries are looking to build a peace process to solve their ongoing decades-old conflict.
Pakistan's Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani, arrived in the northern Indian town of Mohali today. He's there to meet his Indian counterpart--so they can watch the Cricket World Cup Semi Finals together.
The prime ministers are hoping to use today's game between India and Pakistan to mend relations shattered by the Mumbai attacks.
Scores of Pakistanis crossed one of the world's most militarized borders to travel to the stadium and millions of Indians have taken the day off work.
Besides watching cricket, the two prime ministers will discuss reviving a peace process in a conflict that's gone on for more than 60 years.
Attacks in Mumbai in 2008 heightened tensions between the two nations. New Delhi blames Pakistani militants in collusion with elements of the government, including Pakistan's spy agency, for the assault that killed dozens. In a major confidence-building measure ahead of the cricket match, it was agreed yesterday that Indian investigators would travel to Pakistan to probe the Mumbai attacks.
