Chinese Police Stop Hong Kong Investors from Shanghai Expo

Investors from Hong Kong say Chinese police have stopped them from visiting the World Expo in Shanghai. They are members of a Hong Kong investor rights group who've fallen victim after investing in China. They do not understand why mainland authorities are preventing them from attending the Expo.
The World Expo in Shanghai will be coming to a close in less than two weeks, but a group of former investors from Hong Kong won't be able to make it. They say mainland Chinese authorities are stopping them from visiting the Expo.
Seven members of the Concern Group for Rights of Hong Kong Investors tried to attend the expo last week. The group is a locally based advocate for investors victimized in China, many of whom have lost fortunes after being deceived there.
Lu Weiping, from the Concern Group says as the members departed from different locations on their way to Shanghai, Chinese police intercepted all but one of them.

"The police told one of our members that they have 3000 policemen watching our group, and that they know exactly which flight or train our members are taking. Indeed, they were intercepted at the airport, halfway during the train ride, and also at the Shanghai Railway Station."
The only person to make it to the Expo was a new member of the Concern Group, Liu Weipei.

"He wore our Concern Group's t-shirt and was very excited. He yelled that he's made it to the Expo and was left alone while he was there. He was surrounded by a number of people, whom he said looked like plain-clothes police."
When the Shanghai Expo opened in May, a dozen members from the Concern Group tried to visit. But they were rounded up by police, roughened up and deported back to Hong Kong.
Lu Weiping says the group will try to organize more trips to the Expo, and expose how Hong Kong investors were victimized in China.
