Amanda Holden tipped for US job

It appears Amanda Holden is on course to become a household name in America.

The Britain's Got Talent judge is currently a UK correspondent for The Early Show on network CBS. The 39-year-old actress and presenter has interviewed the likes of Johnny Depp in the role.

Bosses are said to be so impressed with Amanda, she is now being tipped to land the job of anchor on the programme, to cover their main host's maternity leave.

Amanda's spokespeople had no comment about the rumoured deal however.

A host of British TV stalwarts have tried to crack the States in the past. Simon Cowell is regularly named as the highest paid man on US TV, thanks to his hugely successful series American Idol.

Cat Deeley secured roles on NBC's The Tonight Show and American Idol before becoming the permanent host of So You Think You Can Dance.

Myleene Klass co-hosted the US version of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and also works for CNN.

Alexa Chung meanwhile, had her own show on MTV which ran for two seasons, up until December 2009.
