Andres Aquinos work in fashion transcends that of simple designer; he brings the savvy of a producer, the attention to color and visual stimuli of a photographer, and the artistry one comes to expect from a couture designer. The story he weaves out of silk, sequence, satin, and other fine textiles depicts the seasons, as well as the contrasting nature of humanity and nature. As such, garments have a silky sling to them, highlighting the curves of the body, while keeping the focus on the garment itself. One piece of note is the metallic golden silhouette with matching cape. The dress highlights the shape of a womans body with a soft bodice and raised skirt, giving the piece an armor-like aesthetic. As the cape flows freely behind the dress, it also works to give an ethereal balance to the piece. It is an appreciated touch that the dress can be worn with or without the cape, and the vibrant diamond straps of the dress provide just as stunning an augment as the cape.
