Blasts Injure 15 in Darwin, Australia

Fifteen people were injured after a bomb went off in an insurance office in Darwin, Australia.

Some victims sat outside the office in pain, waiting for help, while others were taken to hospital.

Police say a man disgruntled over an insurance settlement wheeled a shopping trolley full of petrol and firecrackers into the office, before setting it alight and fleeing.

[Eyewitness 1]:
"All I heard is bang, bang, bang, loud as. Then the ground was shaking and I just got out of there and I saw smoke and people screaming."

Another eyewitness described how workers from a nearby supermarket helped people escape.

[Eyewitness 2]:
"These two or three guys that were from Woolworths that were trying to get people out of the building, standing at the front door because the smoke was billowing out, no-one could see and he was just saying follow my voice, come towards me."

Others thought the explosion was gunfire.

[Eyewitness 3]:
"I heard about five loud shots and the chemist staff said 'shut the doors, they sound like gun shots'."

Police say the suspect surrendered to officials soon after the blast.
