So when I saw that the Dayton Charity Chicken bought today's jingle, I didn't quite know what to think. Now, after meeting the DCC, I'm still not quite sure what to think. But what I DO know is that the DCC is one bird who gets around. It's favorite activity is participating in races, and since the Jingle Bell Run for arthritis back in 2002, it has been spotted at the Diabetes Walk 5k, Relay for Life, Ghost N Goblin 5k, Multiple Sclerosis 8k, breast cancer fundraisers, an epilepsy walk in the Fairfield Commons Mall, and events for Go Red for Women at The Greene. So next time you're at a race, keep your eyes peeled because you'll likely have a chicken in your midst. One thing I DO know is that the chicken loves people and helping others, which is pretty neat! Also, if you're having an event that you'd like to invite the DCC to be a part of, let me know and I can get you two in contact. Finally, if you happen to see the DCC around town, say "put your wings up and flap 'em in the air, flap 'em around like you just don't care" and see what happens.
