Another in the series from the Amarillo College Natural History Museum. This an unusual one - Decorator Ship Models. The Director of the ACNHM has in his possession a collection of Decorator Ship Models which were built from Circa 1920 to 1970.

Though simple in construction and crude in detail the collection is remarkable in that nearly all examples are in perfect condition.

These models were produced with the sole intention of being office and home decorator pieces. Some actually made by Spanish prison inmates as a source of personal revenue. Yet their crude nature and rarity in perfect form given them an appeal and charm which makes the collectible in their own right.

On occasion examples may be found at auctions or antique dealerships which were the sources of those seen here now gracing the office of the ACNHM Director.
