00:46In an interview with reporters, Committee on Contrabigay Executive Director Teo Pisto Elnas Jr. says they are responding to an anonymous tip about a video showing Villar in an apparent raffle activity in Barangay Buhay na Tubig, Imoscavite.
00:59The Facebook posts the Comelec gave as reference were dated February 12 and 16, but the Commission only received the report on Monday, April 21.
01:08The Comelec will still evaluate if the presence at a giveaway activity can be considered vote-buying under election law.
01:13Elnas also says they are still verifying the exact date of the incident.
01:18If the incident happened before February 11, Villar could be in the clear, since the campaign period for national candidates only started then.
01:26At the time of the interview past 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the Comelec says it has not yet served the show-cause order to Villar.
01:32Once received, she has three days to explain why she should not face an election offense or be disqualified.

03:08Senate President Chief Escudero says transnational crime special envoy Marcos Lacanilao
03:13turned himself over to the Senate on Monday, April 21.
03:17Based on the contempt order signed by Escudero, Lacanilao will be detained for no more than two days.
03:22Ambassador Lacanilao is hereby ordered placed under the custody of the Senate of the Philippines
03:27for a period not exceeding two days,
03:29having failed to satisfactory explain through a clear statement of facts
03:33why his answers during the hearing were not evasive.
03:36Senator Aimee Marcos cited Lacanilao in contempt during a hearing on April 10,
03:40after which the ambassador was briefly detained.
03:43However, Escudero released Lacanilao before the day ended
03:46because he said Marcos did not follow proper procedure.
03:50The Senate ordered Lacanilao on April 11 to explain why he should not be cited in contempt.
03:56Lacanilao earlier said that he got on the plane
03:58because he was the only official who had his passport on him
04:01that tense night of Duterte's arrest.
04:05OPM legend Haji Alejandro passed away on Monday, April 21,
04:10following a battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
04:12He was 70.
04:14His family confirms his death on Tuesday, April 22,
04:17and says in a statement,
04:18At this time, we kindly ask for privacy
04:21as our family grieves this tremendous loss.
04:24Alejandro was known as the
04:25Kilabot ng mga kolehyala in his prime in the 70s and 80s.
04:29He was also best known for his timeless hit songs
04:32including
04:32Alejandro's partner singer Alina Velazquez says in a recent interview
04:43that the music icon had an operation last February
04:46following his cancer diagnosis.
04:48His death marks the third high-profile passing
04:51of a Filipino entertainment icon in just one week.
