00:00You're struggling to stay off your phone.
00:02Maybe you're pulled back in by constant distractions from your technology,
00:08and you can feel your focus and productivity going down,
00:12but you want to regain that control.
00:15Well, in today's video, I'm going to show you how to take control back
00:20so you can improve your focus, your productivity, and get back on track,
00:25all without feeling the constant pull back to your phone.
00:30I'm Dr. Trish Lee.
00:31Welcome back to the channel, where we help people break free from screen addiction
00:35and get back on track.
00:37We want to help you increase your productivity and feel and perform better than ever.
00:43So if you want to reclaim the power of your brain, you're in the right place.
00:48Let's get started.
00:49You may not realize it, but apps are developed to hook you in and keep you hooked.
00:56So notifications, scrolling, and those constant dopamine hits keep you going back for more.
01:04Dopamine is known as the molecule of more, motivation, and pleasure.
01:10But when you're getting that pleasure from your app, it's artificial.
01:15And guess what?
01:16Dopamine can be insatiable.
01:18You think that you're in control, but the algorithm knows better than you do sometimes.
01:25It will use advanced mathematical calculations and even eye-tracking software to see where
01:32your attention lands and to keep you coming back for more of what you've lingered on.
01:38I consider this to be your mind diet.
01:41What are you consuming?
01:41Many people are used to tracking fat, calories, and sugar in their real life.
01:49So we need to do the same thing on social media.
01:52Because what you're passively consuming, you're putting into your mind.
01:57So it's very important to track what you consume.
02:01Especially drama, violence, and sexual media.
02:06These are like the calories, fat, and sugar of the social media world.
02:11So let me give you a happiness action step that you can put into place right away.
02:16Track the macros of your mind.
02:20Watch how much drama, violence, and sexual media you put in.
02:24In this way, you can start tracking your screen time, especially what you're consuming.
02:30You may not realize your feed is psychologically manipulating you.
02:36It works like this.
02:37Every time you post a picture of yourself in a tiny outfit, or if you like a post as such,
02:46you're giving your brain a reward, an artificially high dose of dopamine.
02:52Alternatively, you could post about your purpose and passion.
02:57Like my daughter, Saoirse, who rides horses.
03:00The only thing she posts is her on her horse.
03:05So every time she gets a like, that's reinforcing the passion and purpose in the real world.
03:11Not objectification or the fake fun that you see in social media.
03:17You have to realize that neuroplasticity can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
03:24We want to make it your best friend.
03:25When you post about your purpose and passion, then you're reinforcing pleasure and happiness in the real world.
03:33Anytime you post or you like something artificial, in fact, then you're reinforcing the reward of the artificially high dopamine hits from the screen.
03:44So if you're going to use social media, be aware of this cycle and use it to your advantage.
03:51Use it to fire you up about your life, not detract you from it.
03:56This happiness hack I call mindful motivation.
04:00So if you're going to stay on social media, it's imperative that you clean up your feed.
04:05Every time you go back, it should motivate you.
04:08Or if you're giving other people likes, use it to motivate them.
04:13In this way, both you and the people you care about will be receiving the real world reward.
04:21So if you want to break free from the manipulation of the algorithm, please go over to drtrishlee.com where you can get my free guide,
04:2932 Brain Hacks to Reclaim Your Life from the Screen.
04:33The link is in the description.
04:34How do you break free and take back the control?
04:37Deleting the apps, that isn't enough.
04:40You have to rewire your brain and small changes can really compound over time.
04:47So this happiness hack is to use the three second rule.
04:52Give yourself three seconds before opening that app on your phone and think to yourself,
04:57why am I going on my phone right now?
05:00Is it reinforcing my purpose and passion?
05:03Make sure that it's motivating you back into your life.
05:08Now, if you want to fast track recovery from screen addiction or have help in balancing your screen time,
05:15my team and I at Dr. Trish Lee and Company help people using QEEG brain mapping so we can visualize the impact of screens on your brain.
05:24Then we use advanced technology known as neurofeedback.
05:27What it does is it rewires your brain from the screen brain impacted version you're using right now back to the healthy optimized version that helps you to improve your focus,
05:40your energy, your clarity, your concentration, and it helps you to achieve the goals that you've always wanted to.
05:49My program has helped thousands of people leave the screen and get on purpose in their life.
05:55So if you're ready for change, please click the link in the description so you can visit with one of my brain health professionals on my team and have a consultation to see how we can help you break free from the screen.
06:09Okay, let's recap what we've learned today.
06:12First, it's important to track what you're consuming with your mind.
06:16We're calling that macros for the mind.
06:19Keep track of it and be sure that it's helping to motivate you back into your life.
06:25Secondarily, post and like with purpose and passion.
06:29This way, you'll get the real life reward every time you're in the screen.
06:34And lastly, third is make sure that you're using your phone for mindful motivation.
06:40Everything you do in the screen should help you get on purpose in your life.
06:46If you relate to this, drop a no phone emoji in the comments and be sure to leave a comment.
06:52I read every single one of them.
06:54And if you want more tips on how to improve your focus and clarity by leaving the screen, click the link on the screen right now for the video that's appearing.
07:04This way, I can help you get on purpose even more.
07:07And as always, remember, control your brain or it'll control you.
