00:00Let's enjoy this because there have been so many times where they haven't.
00:03Fair.
00:04The Cubs right now are tops in Major League Baseball in runs per game.
00:08That's right.
00:08Your Chicago Cubs lead the league in runs per game.
00:13They lead the league in total runs, therefore.
00:15Extra base hits.
00:17That's the one that got me.
00:18They already have 85 extra base hits.
00:21That is the overwhelming difference in what we have seen this year compared to others in the past.
00:28You cannot tell me protection in the lineup doesn't matter.
00:32I am living it right now.
00:34To get the type of production they're getting from the bottom of the order, Carson Keller, we just mentioned.
00:38But also, obviously, when you talk about Pete Crow Armstrong and what he's been able to do since getting off to a slower start, right?
00:47He's been phenomenal.
00:49He's made plays both in the outfield and at the plate and with his feet once he gets on the base pass.
00:55He has continued what we saw in the back half of last season, and I said it once, and this won't be the first, the last.
01:03This is one of those in-between times.
01:05Pay that man his money.
01:07If you can, it's like you said in the meeting, if 79 are hitting, you are living good.
01:14That's it.
01:15If you know that you can score runs with two outs, your runners in scoring position numbers go up.
01:21Like, I can't tell you already how many times this season I'm like, oh, that was a two-out hit.
01:24Oh, that was nice.
01:25That was a two-out hit.
01:26I felt like there were so many times where once you got to two outs, to the number of six hitter in the lineup,
01:33it was hoping to see something rather than potentially expecting.
01:37And you're seeing that in the difference in the numbers.
01:41Cubs are fourth with runners in scoring position per batting average.
01:46They are, of course, second in walks because that's what they do.
01:49They walk.
01:49But then to be third in home runs, all of that adds up to what you're seeing.
01:53All of that adds up to them having this record against some of the best teams in baseball.
01:59And we haven't even talked about some things that have concerned people, and that's understandable.
02:04This is what happens when you have a good team.
02:06It's just like the last segment where I'm talking about guys I thought who were starters being backups.
02:10This is the same concept.
