00:00Estamos de volta em New Jersey, vamos fazer isso!
00:05Isso pode ter um impacto em como o campeonato vai ficar aqui.
00:09É o Nath Trasher no interior, ele fez o que ele fez em sua heat.
00:15Oh, a repetir.
00:17Os primeiros primeiros vão ser tão importantes, especialmente para Seth Hamaker.
00:22Em frente de R.J. Hamshire, com a água sendo colocada, toma o lead.
00:27Wow, look at that! Hamaker, that was awesome!
00:32Trasher, and then R.J. Hamshire in the mix.
00:35Fial gives himself a better chance, and Austin Faulkner is in the mix on the triumph.
00:40Incredible pass by Seth Hamaker to go up that inside, make the move on the 41 of Nate Trasher.
00:48It'll be interesting these next couple laps, see if the 56 of Hamaker can build a gap,
00:54almost loses it at the exit of the whoops.
00:57Look at the difference, look at the different style going through the whoops.
01:01Nate Trasher is on the attack.
01:05Championship lead up against the championship hopeful.
01:09Trasher's back in sixth in the points, and needs another win.
01:12He won in Birmingham earlier in the year.
01:15This would be phenomenal if he could come back.
01:18Wow, Seth looking very good.
01:20Greases that triple into the corner, a nice apex through the 90, riding right in his zone, defending any counterattack from the 41 of Thrasher.
01:32Oh, no!
01:33That's Chance Hymus, is it?
01:34Yep.
01:37Oh, no.
01:39Remember, he's coming off of an ACL repair.
01:42He had a slow start to the season.
01:44Basically got no riding in the offseason.
01:47Another bobble by the 56 of Hamaker.
01:50Just going too fast in the whoops.
01:52Misses one with his front end.
01:54Nice save.
01:54Look at this.
01:55Nate Trasher is feeling good.
01:59That hand has healed well.
02:01He's feeling strong, and is on the attack up against the championship co-leader.
02:08Yellow flag's out right now.
02:10Just proceed with caution.
02:12They can still jump the rhythm lanes.
02:15I like these lines that Jorge was talking about.
02:18That inside is going to be multiple lines.
02:20That was a great view of that.
02:22You may have noticed Hymus off to the side of the track in the hands of the Alpinestar Medical Unit.
02:27Here is the Ufo Plus moment of the race early on.
02:33Watch bike 10.
02:34I'm watching 10, yeah.
02:35Oh, he comes up short.
02:37As he comes up short, he starts to lean the bike to initiate the turn,
02:40and he isn't perfectly squared up when he comes short, just high sides.
02:46Oh, that happens so fast.
02:49It's the guy who was fourth in points at the drop of the gate
02:54and certainly wasn't counting himself out of being a title contender.
02:59But JT, that certainly hurts his chances.
03:02Yeah, they're in that exact section.
03:03You see Nate Trasher land on that very triple.
03:06And the tough part of that is you want to land right on the downside
03:09because they immediately have to turn right and set up for that next triple.
03:13So you'd be, you know, wondering why would Chance Hymus cut it so close?
03:17Why would he land right on the edge?
03:18Well, it almost has to make that corner.
03:20And that's how tight the margins are in Monster Supercross.
03:24You go a little bit too long, guess what?
03:26You're off the racetrack, come a little bit too short, and you're over the handlebars.
03:29Right, and exactly what JT was saying, too.
03:31As he started to try to make that 90-degree corner,
03:34if he's angled just a little bit and he doesn't land on the backside,
03:39it's so easy to high side like that.
03:42Hopefully he's going to be okay.
03:44Remember, he just wanted to get through the Supercross season
03:47and contend for the Promotocross championship.
03:50And hopefully he'll be all right.
03:53But, man, this is a battle.
03:55Oh, did you see the 56 at Mammaker?
03:58That could have easily happened to him as well.
04:01Just got a report that Chance Hymus, there it is.
04:04He's off and up the tunnel, out of this race.
04:07And we'll see him next week in Pittsburgh.
04:10Meanwhile, heading back to his home state next week
04:13is the race leader, Seth Hamaker.
04:15It is hugely emotional and important for him
04:18to be racing here in the Northeast, where he grew up well.
04:21And he is in the form of his career.
04:24And it's a renaissance of sorts.
04:26I spoke at the top of the show there,
04:28about how he's just had a career
04:30that has just been a string of injuries.
04:32And the big change to that,
04:33he made a move to Florida from California,
04:36got a new trainer.
04:37He's training with the Lawrence brothers,
04:39Jet and Hunter and their dad
04:40and his trainer, Michael Byrne.
04:42And it's made all the difference.
04:43And when I tried to get set to zone in
04:45on what those differences were,
04:46he said, when I used to make mistakes before,
04:49it's like my riding technique wasn't great.
04:50And they would get amplified
04:51and I would end up on the ground.
04:53That would result in the injuries.
04:55He said, we've eliminated so much of that.
04:57And we've seen so many saves,
04:59if you want to call them that,
05:00out of Seth Hamaker since that.
05:02These tracks are tough,
05:03but he seems to handle them extremely well.
05:06Here's the man who was pressuring Hamaker earlier.
05:15Nate Thrasher, after a super heat racing start,
05:21has dropped back somewhat.
05:22Championship points updated,
05:24bottom left of your screen.
05:25And Seth Hamaker would take the lead
05:27to Pittsburgh next week
05:28by three points over Hampshire.
05:30watch the second bike and rider.
05:33Watch Thrasher to the right of your screen.
05:35Oh, no, he goes down.
05:38And then RJ, great heads up riding.
05:42Hate that for Thrasher.
05:43You know, from the Hamaker's standpoint,
05:46Thrasher was in the perfect spot,
05:48building the buffer between Seth and RJ.
05:53Add a little bit of a points gap.
05:54That's going to close things up, possibly.
05:58Actually, no.
06:00Stay the same three-point add for Hamaker.
06:03And what Will was saying,
06:04just watching the progression
06:06and the improvements that Seth has made
06:08where years passed,
06:09he probably would have overridden
06:11and not pulled back.
06:12And that's what he said in the offseason,
06:14told us,
06:14knowing when those moments are,
06:16to go for it
06:17and maybe not go back for it,
06:19be more reserved.
06:20And he's been able to do that
06:22all season long, it seems like.
06:23And it's been incredible to watch.
06:25Here's the 24-year-old Frenchman, Tom Villal,
06:27the reigning champion in the East Division
06:29aboard his Red Bull KTM.
06:32He's going to be watching his teammate,
06:33Chase Sexton,
06:34try and get back-to-back wins here shortly
06:36when the 450s line up.
06:37But Tom's got his own business to take care of.
06:39There is Chase warming up
06:41on the stationary bike.
06:43And Villal said,
06:44look, it's as simple as this.
06:44After having three consecutive podiums
06:47to finish last in Foxborough,
06:50and then sixth last weekend in Philly
06:52is far from ideal.
06:53But I'm still in the championship chase.
06:56I can't believe it,
06:57but I still am.
06:57I'll take that.
06:58He's going to bleed some more points here,
07:00even though he's on the podium
07:01at the moment
07:02with eight minutes plus a lap to go.
07:05It's kind of heading in the wrong direction
07:07as the rounds wind down.
07:09It is, sadly.
07:10But as they start to come up
07:12through the lappers,
07:13maybe that'll help him make some time up.
07:15RJ isn't far from him, wasn't.
07:18So it's still a fighting chance for Tom.
07:22And it just seems like he had more of a speed.
07:25He had more speed last year.
07:26It was closer to his contenders,
07:28the guys that he was racing for.
07:29But, again,
07:30these guys have three more rounds left
07:32or two more rounds after this race,
07:34including a showdown
07:36at the season finale
07:37of Monster Energy Supercross in Salt Lake.
07:40Showdowns when the East Division
07:41and West Division come together.
07:42That's what we enjoyed most recently.
07:44By the way,
07:45we're over the halfway mark.
07:46Quick reminder to stock up
07:47on Monster Energy drinks.
07:49Available at 7-11.
07:51I want to give a shout-out
07:52to Austin Faulkner.
07:53He's in the top five
07:54on the Triumph.
07:55That would be his season-best result.
07:58He's ahead of Cullen Park,
07:59Max Vol and Devin Simonson,
08:01who, by the way,
08:02had his equal-best heat result
08:05earlier today.
08:07Miller is in the top ten
08:08after that big crash,
08:10being forced to the LCQ.
08:12And then coming back,
08:14here's Austin Faulkner on the 83.
08:17You saw that special Alpine Star technology
08:19to protect the rider
08:20when it inflated,
08:21to protect his upper torso
08:23and back area.
08:25This is a great run
08:26for this man right here,
08:27number 83,
08:28Austin Faulkner
08:29on that Triumph
08:30racing machine.
08:32And he had a major surgery
08:34in the off-season,
08:36coming back
08:37from a gnarly crash
08:38last year as well.
08:41Confidence banked up,
08:43but he came here today,
08:44had a great qualifying session
08:47earlier on,
08:49had good speed
08:51in the heat race.
08:54Well, look,
08:54I think when the Triumph
08:55executives turn up, Ricky,
08:56the good results come.
08:57When Jordan Smith won
08:59earlier in the year,
09:00they were there.
09:01Paul Stroud
09:02from Triumph
09:03in the UK
09:03is here,
09:04and Austin
09:04putting up his
09:05season-best result.
09:07It's going
09:08well so far,
09:09Weege,
09:10for Faulkner.
09:13It is going well
09:14for Faulkner,
09:15not going so well,
09:16unfortunately,
09:16for the heat race winner,
09:17Chance Thomas.
09:18He saw that crash.
09:19He did get back to the pit
09:20and walk off under his own power.
09:22His mechanic,
09:22Tommy Harris,
09:23says he's banged up,
09:24but otherwise okay.
09:25Hopefully we get him
09:26back next weekend
09:26in Pittsburgh.
09:29Yeah, hopefully he's all right.
09:30It's so frustrating
09:32when you're working
09:33towards a goal.
09:34You just want to get
09:34through the Supercross season
09:36healthy and set your sights
09:37on the Promotocross Championship.
09:38and then one little slip-up.
09:45I think that
09:46if Austin's able
09:48to continue
09:48this fantastic ride,
09:50this is something
09:50that he'll be able
09:51to build on.
09:52Whoa, that was close.
09:53Again, very similar
09:54to what Heimus did.
09:55Comes up a little short.
09:56Bike isn't perfectly straight.
09:58Wants to pitch him off
09:59as a high-side crash.
10:01But going back,
10:02I think if he's able
10:02to finish this ride off,
10:04it's something
10:04that he can build on
10:05and continue to get
10:06that confidence back
10:07as a kid
10:08that was at one stage
10:11in 2019, I believe,
10:13had won the first
10:14five or six rounds.
10:16He blows his ACL out
10:17in Nashville.
10:20That's when Chase Sexton
10:21got his first
10:22regional championship.
10:25Sexton was his second
10:26at the time.
10:30Let's go a little
10:31further ahead
10:32to our journey.
10:33I bought the Rockstar
10:35Energy Factory Husqvarna.
10:37sits just under four seconds
10:38behind race leader
10:39Seth Hamaka,
10:40who he came into this race
10:42tied with in the championship.
10:43So, RJ will leave here
10:46with position state
10:47as is.
10:48Three points adrift
10:49of Hamaka.
10:51RJ was able
10:52to win that
10:53250 West Division
10:54championship
10:55last year.
10:56He did it
10:56probably the hardest
10:57atmosphere
10:59to be able
11:00to do that.
11:00What I mean by that,
11:01whoever wins,
11:02wins the championship.
11:03He just edged out
11:04Levi Kitchen.
11:06And it was so cool
11:07to see RJ
11:08be able to do that,
11:09Will.
11:10It was incredible,
11:12wasn't it, Ricky?
11:12Just one of the most
11:13determined athletes
11:14you are ever going to meet.
11:16And to that point,
11:17he came into this season
11:18with a wrist injury,
11:20hard bearing his wrist
11:21from breaking it.
11:21He's had to tape it up
11:22just to get through
11:23the races all season long.
11:26But what that's done
11:26is it's had an effect
11:27on how he has had
11:28to set up his bike.
11:30He's wanted a softer
11:31setup in order to go
11:32easy on that wrist,
11:33but the Supercross tracks,
11:34they require a stiffer setup.
11:36So trying to find
11:36that balance, RJ,
11:37has just been an extra challenge.
11:39Well, you talk about
11:41suspension and finding
11:42that balance.
11:43In suspension,
11:43everything is a compromise.
11:45When Jason Wygant
11:46was giving us that,
11:47showing us the valves
11:48and the volume of oil
11:50that they push
11:52going through
11:53on a standard setting,
11:54a production setting,
11:55versus the volume of oil
11:56it pushes
11:57from a factory setting.
11:59And, you know,
11:59it's a fine balance
12:00of having enough compression,
12:02stiff compression
12:03to carry the speed
12:04and the stiffness
12:05through the rhythm lanes
12:06and the whoops,
12:07but also having
12:08the bike soft enough
12:09to where you get
12:11good drive
12:11and you create
12:12as much lateral grip
12:13as possible
12:15to where you have
12:16some comfort
12:16and gives you
12:17the comfort
12:17of being able
12:18to twist that throttle.
12:21And RC,
12:22just like that,
12:22is only two minutes,
12:2440 seconds,
12:25plus a lap to go
12:26for Seth Hamaker
12:29aboard that
12:30Monster Energy Pro Circuit
12:31Kawasaki.
12:31Here he is.
12:32If he stays out in front
12:34and wins this main event,
12:36he'll become
12:36the first multi-event winner
12:39this year
12:39in the East Division.
12:41Hayden Deegan
12:41has two wins
12:42in the West Division,
12:44but it's been
12:44a different winner
12:45every time out
12:46and Cole Davies
12:46does as well.
12:48And so,
12:48for Seth Hamaker,
12:50this is going to be
12:51something really special
12:52and he will hold
12:53the lead of the championship
12:54by himself.
12:55He's been in a tie
12:56the last two rounds.
12:58First with Vial,
13:00then with Hamshire.
13:02He will be
13:02the sole championship
13:03leader in several
13:05minutes' time.
13:06Yeah,
13:06just a couple more laps.
13:07You've got to stay engaged,
13:08not get ahead of yourself,
13:10be thinking too far ahead.
13:12You've got to stay present
13:13and in the moment,
13:14especially as it gets
13:15late in this race.
13:16This is when the track
13:16starts getting more difficult.
13:18You can see the whoops.
13:19They're starting to jump
13:20through them
13:21where they were
13:21blitzing them earlier.
13:23Then it seems like
13:24this whoops section
13:25right here
13:26has a long run
13:26through the middle.
13:28Whoa, hold on to it.
13:29See, that's what
13:29I'm talking about.
13:31So, still a lot of racing
13:33left on a difficult track.
13:39That would be,
13:39that would be awesome
13:40if Seth is able
13:41to be the first
13:42repeat winner
13:43in the East Coast Division.
13:45Six guys like you
13:46were talking about.
13:47Look at Coop
13:47down there at the bottom.
13:49Webb is gearing up
13:50for the 450 main
13:51and continue his fight
13:54with Chase Sexton.
13:55but we're not done
13:56with yet
13:56with the 250 main event.
13:58A minute to go
13:58plus a lap.
13:59Hey, a little further back
14:00is Devin Simonson.
14:02He showed us
14:02some great speed
14:03earlier this morning
14:05and then he went on
14:06with it in his heat
14:07and here he is
14:08running eighth
14:09which would be
14:10a career best
14:12equaling position.
14:15So, it's going nicely
14:16and his teammate
14:16Max Moland
14:17is in seventh.
14:18So, solid day.
14:19Here comes the race leader
14:19to lap him.
14:20Around goes Hammock
14:21up through the second
14:22portion of the whoops
14:23with the clock
14:24counting down.
14:27Seth might make it
14:29to the checkered flag
14:30just before
14:32the countdown clock
14:35gets to zero
14:36so then he'll have
14:36two more laps to go.
14:39It's making him
14:39earn it a little bit more.
14:40That's right.
14:42Maybe had head comms
14:43mechanic to be like
14:44slow down just
14:45one second
14:46so you don't have
14:47to do another
14:48extra lap.
14:54It has been
14:55significantly warmer
14:57today than
14:58recent rounds
14:59and the clock
14:59there was still
15:00time left on the clock
15:00so it will be
15:01two more laps
15:02for Hammock.
15:02Ricky, what about
15:03the heat
15:03affecting the physical
15:05the physicality
15:06for the riders
15:07how that drains them?
15:09Definitely a lot
15:09hotter than
15:11where it's been
15:12and I think
15:12it plays a part
15:13especially when
15:14these guys
15:14have their
15:15qualifying practice
15:16earlier in the day
15:17the heat is there
15:18so they're exerting
15:19more energy
15:20so maybe there's
15:21going to be
15:21some more fatigue
15:22factor so the
15:23stronger guys
15:24have some better
15:25endurance
15:25high intensity
15:27endurance as well
15:28might be able
15:29to last say
15:30a few laps longer
15:31a few minutes longer
15:32which goes a long
15:33ways in Monster
15:34Energy Supercross
15:35so for sure
15:37fitness becoming
15:38a premium
15:38today.
15:42Man, look at the
15:43tracks getting down
15:44to the plywood
15:45there.
15:46Oh yeah.
15:50Seth Hammock
15:51says show me
15:51that white flag
15:52one more lap
15:54to go
