00:00Let me say this about finances.
00:04I am financially very conservative.
00:09I believe we ought to be good stewards of our reserves.
00:14I believe we must not overspend and that we must save for the future.
00:20That's what my parents taught me.
00:23But I also believe that good stewardship means not over-saving either.
00:32Because over-saving can be as dangerous as over-spending.
00:36It means genuine needs of the present generation may be overlooked.

01:58Like many parents, I feel the struggles of raising children in Singapore's expensive environment.
02:04We, as parents, without a doubt, make sacrifices for our kids to help them succeed.
02:11I want to be a voice for practical and fair policies that support families and protect breadwinners.
02:20It is vital, hugely vital, that the government continues to improve our lives and create opportunities for Singaporeans.
02:28In summary, I want to be a balanced and measured voice in parliament.
02:33Speaking on these important issues, as a loyal opposition, I would challenge the government to do better, to rethink their policies, and above all, create a brighter future for our children.
02:49Speaking of the
