00:00Mooski! We running, we running, we running. Trackstar's definitely running it up on the charts.
00:06Man, pleasure once again, man. Joey Franchise here, Wild 94.1. Yo, just talk to me about this
00:13crazy, like, wild ride that you're on right now. I feel like, you know, you hit lightning in a
00:18bottle with the record. It's going up some crazy. I mean, it's all over the streaming. Not only
00:23streaming, but it's also all over TikTok, you name it. I mean, I can't go anywhere without
00:27hearing this record whenever I'm on my phone or in the streets. So tell me, man, what's
00:32that feeling like having a hit like this? You know, it's a great feeling, bro. It's a
00:37great feeling, man. This record is when places that I didn't, you know what I'm
00:41saying, that I didn't foresee happening. You know what I'm saying? Or not happening
00:46like this, bro. It's just different. It's different seeing something and thinking
00:50something that is different. Like, when it gets here, you actually see it happening
00:54in front of your eyes. No, I dig that, man. And I know, you know, how long have
00:58you, let me, let me, let me backtrack a little bit to know you a little bit more. Cause I
01:01know we met briefly, you know, during the, during the little, uh, the station meet, but
01:07man, tell me a little bit about, uh, you know, your story, how you got into music. I know
01:10you were a military and whatnot. So tell me how, you know, what's your story as like, especially
01:15like getting into music? Uh, you know, um, I, I just grew up, I just grew up, you know,
01:21experiencing a lot of, a lot of, uh, tragedy, man. You know what I'm saying? My parents were
01:26battling health problems, um, on and off my whole life, man. And you know what I'm
01:31saying? When I got older, you know, my mom had a stroke, um, that, that paralyzed the
01:37whole left side, you know, and then my pops passed when I was 18. Then my mom had another
01:41stroke, you know what I'm saying? Like while I was in the Marine Corps, um, and then like,
01:47you know, I just didn't know how to deal with all that. And then that's, that's how I found
01:49music. And when I found music, it was like a venting tool, man. You know what I'm saying?
01:53So I just kept doing it. I started making music when I was 13, but you know, it was real
01:58on and off. But when I got to the Marine Corps, I was really like recording, going to a professional
02:02studio and I started to take it seriously. You know what I mean? And when I turned like 22,
02:06I decided, I decided to leave the Marine Corps. Um, I made decisions. I was
02:11going to leave the Marine Corps and pursue music. That's why. And you were writing while
02:14you were in Marine Corps? So I was writing and dropping. Wow, man. That's, that's,
02:19that's wild. Like how, like what, you know, things that you learned maybe during Marines
02:24that you've adapted into, to your music? Um, you know, discipline. Um, just, just learning
02:35how to work with people, man. Like learning how to be good with words. You know, learn how
02:39to talk, learn how to talk to people. So like, that helped a lot. You know what I'm
02:43saying? Learning how to be, uh, transparent. Um, you know, like, uh, yeah, the Marine Corps,
02:52it just showed me who I was, man. You know what I'm saying? Like as a leader. So it showed,
02:56it showed me how I need to, you know, uh, display myself and appearance, uh, is everything,
03:01how to move everything. You know what I'm saying?
03:03Right. No, I totally feel you on that. Now, you know, with the record doing numbers, uh,
03:09how did the idea for track star, uh, come about? Obviously, was there somebody in your
03:13life that, you know, that just didn't want to take, you know, the, the relationship serious
03:17and then just, you know, took off running, put on the track shoes and was out?
03:21You know, it's definitely from a real life experience. You know what I'm saying? It's just,
03:26I always want to pull from a real, a real experience in life when I write, when I write music,
03:31especially a pain song. Cause you know, you just want everybody to be able to relate to,
03:34you know what I'm saying? So, you know, cause I felt like everybody had a situation to where like,
03:39you know, they were, they was, there was with a girl who just, you know what I'm saying?
03:43Ran from a problem. Like she just couldn't, couldn't, she just wasn't ready,
03:48wasn't ready as you were. Um, you were for something, you know what I'm saying?
03:52Right. Uh, what advice do you have for people like that, that probably go through situations
03:57like that? Cause it can be great, especially if you're involved, uh, more in the relationship
04:01than the other person is. So what, what relationship advice could you give? I mean,
04:05I'm sure you're like a, you know, a single kid, a single guy right now. So, you know,
04:09what, what can you give, uh, advice wise, uh, catering to that experience?
04:15Uh, you know, I mean, I just say like, man, just, I mean, I don't know, just, just know,
04:20know, know yourself and know your worth. You feel what I'm saying? On both sides.
04:24Uh, you know what I mean? Like if you don't think somebody see your worth, I mean, you
04:29can go ahead and bounce. You feel what I'm saying? Like, just don't, you, you, you don't
04:33want to set yourself up for, set yourself up in a position to be hurt. You feel what I'm
04:37saying? That, that go for the female and the male, you know, on both sides. You get what
04:41I'm saying? Like, you just, it's not your worth, man. And if you don't, if you don't feel
04:45like, if you don't feel like your worth is being respected, then you know what I'm saying?
04:48Just go some words.
04:50Wise words right there, my friend. Well done.
04:51So also with the track being viral, man, do you, do you, you know, do you laugh? Do
04:57you repost any of these, uh, uh, crazy TikTok videos or Instagram real videos that get posted
05:03with your song in the background? Spring Break was wilding and a lot, a lot of people getting
05:07arrested and your song being used in the background.
05:11Yeah. Oh, I definitely, I definitely, uh, yeah, I definitely laugh at some of that stuff,
05:16bro. Some of you don't, cause like, like they, they use, man, they using a song like on all
05:20type of different, like, you know what I'm saying? Like different, different things where
05:25it's crazy, though.
05:26The internet is a cop car.
05:28Yeah.
05:31Undefeated.
05:32The internet stays undefeated, bro. I mean, you saw the, I'm sure you saw the spring break
05:36when I know that I was here. We talked about this last time where Florida are not far from
05:40us, I mean, like Clearwater, it was like somebody getting arrested and then they, they opened the,
05:44they, with the cuffs on, just ran out the back of the cop car and just hit it. So that's pretty
05:51wild. Uh, what are some, what, what are some inspirations, uh, for you? What were you listening
05:55to? What, what kind of motivated you? Where'd you kind of build your sound from? Was there,
05:59you know, were you a fan of anybody, you know, coming up?
06:01Uh, yeah, my, my sound kind of come from like, um, like I was listening to like PNB Rock,
06:0750 Walk, um, Michael Jackson, Drake, you know what I'm saying? Um, artists like that,
06:15you feel what I'm saying? Like they kind of inspired my sound and, um, things like that.
06:22Wayne, Wayne, Wayne taught me how to, Wayne taught me how to write bars.
06:26There you go. That's, that's not a bad person. You know, what's funny is like my girl was, uh,
06:31we, she just realized this year, like she's a big Wayne fan, but she just realized what the,
06:36um, when he said in six foot, seven foot, uh, real G's moving silence, like lasagna. She's like,
06:42I don't get that. And I'm like, babe, the, the, the G's silent.
06:47Babe, man.
06:48Yo, it blew her mind, yo. Like she totally looked at the, she's like, oh my God.
06:52Hey, but Wayne, Wayne will have something like that. That would take you a little time.
06:57Oh, Dane, that was Wayne we're talking about. You know what I'm saying? Like he did have
07:01something like that back in the day, you know? Dog, like how long, how old is that record?
07:05And she just realized like the other day with that, with that line.
07:08Now that one, now that one right there, I, I, yeah, that one right there, that one should have been.
07:12Now, is that like something like, you know, something like that, like Wayne did? Is that something
07:16like you try to adapt to and try to like kind of emulate, kind of put your spin on?
07:20Is that, it helps like with the writing process? Like hearing things like that? Like little,
07:25little, uh, you know, crazy metaphors?
07:28Uh, I mean, I, like that, that, that used to inspire me, you know, um, when I first started
07:33writing stuff. Now it's like, I think I have my own delivery, my own style of bars and delivering
07:38my bars and stuff. You know what I'm saying? I think I have my own, like, I have a different
07:42way of looking at things.
07:45You bet. And we're here with Mooski, man. Joey Franchise here, Wild 94.1. Uh, yo, what can we
07:50expect like a EP on the way? I'm pretty sure like, you know, I mean, obviously the, the
07:55song just continues to get bigger and bigger by the day. Um, I mean, what, what's the plan?
08:00What are you, what are your, you know, you have a wishlist, anybody you want to work with,
08:04uh, anything we can expect like project wise?
08:08Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. Like you could definitely expect a project. Um, we're working on it right
08:13now, man. A lot of there for the broker, man. We're trying to get it, trying to get it to
08:16the people, man. No doubt. Anybody that you look forward to probably working with, or
08:21you hope, or, you know, that's probably been on the phone saying, Hey, we got to do something
08:24real soon. Uh, I look forward to working with like, uh, Drake, uh, artists like Roddy
08:33Rich, uh, P and B. Yeah. No doubt. And P and B is the home. That'd be fire. Yeah. Dirk
08:43too. Dirk's on fire. Yeah. That's cool. Um, and you, you know, being from Alabama, bro,
08:48like, I mean, shoot, sometimes Alabama can, you know, hear us out here depending on, you
08:52know, if the signal hits the water, right. Um, tell me what it was like growing up, man.
08:57And, and just being in that scene, I feel like a lot of people were just coming out of the
09:00city, uh, or the state right now and really running it up. So what can you tell me about
09:04like the music scene out there and, you know, how that kind of motivated you to get where
09:09you at? Uh, the music scene is definitely growing, bro. Like, you know, like seeing like
09:15Rollo, Cap, um, Blue, you know, artists like that, you know, um, on the other side of them.
09:22Like, it's just like, you know, and seeing all the talent we have, seeing all the talent
09:27we have in, in my city and the surrounding areas, it's like, who's going to be the one
09:32to bring them out? Uh, uh, you know what I'm saying? And in certain situations, like
09:37I'm, um, I'm, I'm getting put in a position to where, to where I'll be able to do, do
09:42something for the, for the city, but in the state, you know what I'm saying? So, you
09:46know, the Alabama is definitely on the rise.
09:49That's what's up. And it definitely is, man. They definitely running it up out there, man.
09:52So whatever's, you know, going on, I mean, it ain't slowing down anytime soon.
09:57Um, you know, and I, and I know it might sound corny, but I got to make a play on the track
10:01star because I'm a big sneaker head. And I know you told me before, like, you know, you
10:05just started getting into the sneaker game. So what is like the, the ideal pair of sneakers
10:10that, you know, you would perform in or you just like rocking, like either comfort or just,
10:14you know, just kind of having the ill stees.
10:17Oh, I ain't, I ain't gonna lie to you, but I'm, I'm gonna put them Berkitt starts on.
10:21Um, I'm, I'm, I'm gonna slide, I'm gonna slide them on. Um, if I'm just chilling out there,
10:25you know, if it was like a little hookah spot or something, or I'll wear them at any
10:29show, to be honest with you, bro. Like I ain't tripping. I, I, you know what I'm saying?
10:33I put on whatever I put on some Berkitt starts. Uh, you know, I always, if I don't have a
10:38Berkitt starts on, I've either got some forces or some, some type of J's on, man, probably
10:42some F's on some F's on some F's. 11, my favorite, 11, my favorite Jordan. I'm on some Wins.
10:49That's lit, man. Berkitt stocks in the club, man. I ain't, I ain't knocking you for that.
10:54With the socks or without the socks?
10:56With the socks, man. You'll never catch me with no socks.
10:58I gotta make sure.
10:59You know what I mean?
10:59There's just something about that don't sit right with me. You know what I'm saying? Like,
11:02uh, uh, hey, I ain't never did that, bro. You gotta have some socks on.
11:07Oh, dog. I feel you, bro. Like, yeah, I ain't letting the dogs out, man. I'm, I put them
11:11socks on ASAP, man. But that's the story, man. Catch you in the hookah lounge. You see
11:15my man with some Berkitt stocks. Mind your business. It's comfort. Yo, Moosky, I appreciate
11:20the time, my G. And I look forward to having you out here soon in Tampa, man. We definitely
11:24gotta, uh, put something together, man. We gotta, you know, run it up out here, take
11:27you to some shops, put you on some dope shit out here, all right?
11:30For sure, man. I appreciate you as well, big dog. For sure.
11:33Always love, man. We gonna keep running up that track, man. Bless up, brother. Looking forward
11:37to more.
11:38Yes, sir. I appreciate it.
11:40Always.
