00:00So Terp, yesterday you were over at the Auerbach Center.
00:05I was.
00:06Celtics out of practice.
00:07They did.
00:08Mazula spoke, some other players spoke.
00:11Now the scuttlebutt yesterday was Jalen Brown was expected to speak.
00:15He did not.
00:16Should we read into that in any way, shape, or form?
00:19No, because I mean, I can't confirm or deny if that was from PR.
00:22Like, I don't know for a fact that he was supposed to speak.
00:25So, I mean, he's been around the team.
00:27It'd be one thing if his status was in the air.
00:29But, like, they've been pretty clear.
00:30Joe Mazula explicitly said the other day that he's going to play in Game 1.
00:34So it'd be different if his status was in the air.
00:36Granted, I know it's the biggest story going into the postseason.
00:38Like, Jalen Brown's health is the story.
00:40But, I mean, they're not, there's no question about his status.
00:45He's going to be playing.
00:46Well, Ramona Shelburne, with her report about him getting pain management,
00:49never said he wasn't going to play.
00:50She said he's expected to play in Game 1.
00:52He's getting shots to manage the pain.
00:54He also mentioned that he was going to do that.
00:55He mentioned a couple weeks ago that there was treatment lined up.
00:59That he was going to go through different things.
01:00Okay.
01:01But that's not, I'm getting a needle in my knee that's been bothering me.
01:05What else would it be, though?
01:06Well, I don't know.
01:06I mean, if it's treatments, that sounds to me like massaging and stretching.
01:10Like, treatment, there's a lot of different ways you could take that.
01:13A lot of different things.
01:13That doesn't mean I'm getting an injection in my knee.
01:16Yeah, I don't think the injection's as big of a deal because he did, like, he mentioned
01:20that there was going to be things to come.
01:21And this is going to be a story the entire time.
01:23Like, this is something that's not going to go away.
01:25This is something he's going to deal with throughout the postseason.
01:28He's been pretty clear with that as well.
01:29So, I think Jalen's been really transparent with all of this.
01:32Maybe except for the All-NBA stuff and how much that actually mattered.
01:36With regard to the injury itself, though, I feel like he's been very transparent and honest
01:40with what's going on.
01:41And, I mean, he's admitted, like, he's not going to be himself at all times during this
01:45postseason.
01:45That's something that he has to come to grips with.
01:47That's what he said a couple weeks ago.
01:49So, we'll see what happens.
01:50I mean, again, this is going to be the biggest story going through the postseason.
01:54How healthy is Jalen Brown?
01:55And, Jones, you mentioned it the other day that he hasn't passed the 30-minute mark since
01:59the Oklahoma City game.
02:00He averaged 36 in the postseason last year.
02:02So, we'll see what happens with the minutes and all that.
02:05But he's out a week off now, and hopefully that can do a little something.
02:07So, what do you think changed from when the last two games we saw him, he plays just over
02:1320 minutes, Missoula had that line, like, well, we did what we needed to do, doesn't
02:17play fourth quarter overtime against the Knicks, and then doesn't play the last couple games
02:21of the season.
02:22So, what changed in your mind there?
02:25I mean, I think there's two things.
02:26One, he really might have realized that, like, you know, this All-NBA thing might not be
02:30as much of a lock as he might have thought originally.
02:33Because people started right around that time really putting out their ballots.
02:36It's like, this is who's going to pick.
02:38We gave ours.
02:38We both did, yeah.
02:39We didn't have him on there, and people with votes put him out there, and he wasn't really
02:43on there.
02:43So, maybe he was aware of that, and it's like, all right, it's not worth pushing for
02:46this.
02:47Or he just realized he's not doing himself any good.
02:49Like, he's learned everything he can about this injury.
02:52Now, like, let's rest up a little bit.
02:53Let's see if this helps.
02:54I mean, you would imagine that any rest is better than no rest.
02:58I mean, it's not going to cure the whole thing, but having a week or two weeks off to kind
03:04of get off that knee and rest up would be much better than playing through an injury in
03:08meaningless games.
03:09And you look at that Knicks game, man.
03:10He was struggling out there.
03:12That was the worst he's looked.
03:13And he hasn't looked bad the entire time when dealing with this injury, but that one was
03:17not good.
03:17So, that one was bad.
03:18His month of March, we were reading Kevin Pelton the other day.
03:21It was his worst month, I think, scoring since, like, 2019.
03:25Points per game-wise?
03:26Yeah.
03:26Because his efficiency was up.
03:28Well, not really.
03:29His shooting numbers were up compared to the entire season because he had a career-low
03:32season.
03:33He shot 43% in March.
03:34He shot 28% on threes.
03:36So, since returning from the three-game absence, he was 40% from three and 51% from the field.
03:42Okay, but if he's looking like he looked against New York or how he played in the month of
03:45March, 18 a game, 43%, 28% from three, can they win a title if that's the best Jalen can
03:52give you?
03:52I mean, he's shown that he can.
03:54I mean, to the point about the scoring, they're going to need more.
03:56More than that with his scoring.
03:58I mean, look how important he was last year.
04:00Like, that's why he won conference finals and NBA finals MVP.
04:03But he's shown that he can adapt.
04:05The big thing is, though, is there's no burst, right?
04:07Like, with the knee, he can't push off as much.
04:09He can't play the way that Jalen Brown plays.
04:12And the best thing about him is he really sets the tone in transition.
04:16He sets the tone with his physicality defensively.
04:18So they're going to be missing that.
04:19So I guess the scoring could take a backseat because you have so many guys that are capable,
04:24right?
04:24You have Tatum is capable of taking on a bigger load.
04:26Kristaps Porzingis, if you can keep him healthy, you didn't have that luxury last season.
04:30Derek White can score.
04:31Drew Holiday can score when needed.
04:33They can all do it.
04:34So I'm not necessarily worried about the scoring aspect of it, more so what he does defensively
04:39because that's not all quantifiable in the stat sheet, what he does, like picking up the
04:44opponent's best players, really setting the tone with his physicality.
04:47And that's something they're going to need against Orlando even.
04:49Granted, they can win this series without Jalen Brown.
04:52But in matching the physicality, Jalen Brown is often the one that spearheads that.
04:55And they're going to be missing that, assuming that he's not 100% and can't really shoulder
05:00his entire workload.
05:01Yeah, what are your thoughts on Orlando?
05:02They make the fewest threes per game in the NBA.
05:07Celtics, obviously, far and away, make the most threes.
05:11A bit of a contrast in styles.
05:13Paula Pancaro, great player.
05:15They've dealt with injuries throughout the year.
05:16They're still dealing with injuries.
05:17But your take on this Orlando team?
05:19Yeah, there's one stat that tells the story of the Orlando Magic.
05:22They were held under 100 points, more than anybody in the NBA this season.
05:27They also held opponents under 100 points, more than anyone in the NBA.
05:31So their defense is terrific.
05:33Their offense, not so much.
05:35And the three-point volume is going to be the big key here.
05:37Because the Celtics had some of their worst three-point shooting nights against Orlando.
05:41Granted, one of those was in the last game of the season when nobody was playing.
05:45The second one was without Jason Tatum.
05:47You know, you had everyone else healthy.
05:49But Jason Tatum does a lot in terms of creating threes just with his spacing and his gravity.
05:53So they were missing there.
05:55But Orlando does a good job of keeping teams off the perimeter.
05:58They're one of the best perimeter defensive teams in the league.
06:01So that three-point volume is going to be something to watch.
06:03But I also look at how bad their offense is.
06:05And did you guys watch that play in the other night when they go scoreless in the third quarter?
06:10And they only put up like 18 points, I believe it was, in the third quarter.
06:13If you go scoreless for five to seven minutes against the Celtics, they're going to go on a big run.
06:17So the Celtics are going to have to capitalize on those opportunities when this offense naturally is going to go stagnant because they just cannot score.
06:24They're second or third to last in points per game.
06:27They have one of the worst offensive ratings.
06:29The Celtics need to capitalize on that and build a run.
06:31And then Orlando might not have the firepower to punch back.
06:33Like, you go down 20 or whatever off a big run, they don't have the offense to punch back.
06:38Pure Hoops with Terp on a Thursday here on Jones and Keefe.
06:41You've got questions for Terp about the Celtics and their playoff run.
06:43You can jump in. 617-779-7937.
06:47You can send in your questions on Twitter as well, at Jones and Keefe.
06:52You told me this off the air the other day.
06:54I was just looking it up.
06:56Joe Mazzula is, because I'm not worried about the Magic.
06:59They should sweep the Magic with or without Jalen Brown.
07:01I'd be disappointed if Orlando took a game off the Celtics.
07:04So I'm not concerned about them.
07:05But you brought up an interesting stat.
07:07Mazzula's the only team he has a losing record against is Orlando.
07:10One of the few.
07:11One of the few.
07:11Okay, one of the few.
07:12Yeah.
07:12Why?
07:13Like, why have they?
07:14Because it's not just this year in the games you mentioned where they have a poor shooting
07:18night, but there were two games without Tatum.
07:20Why in his three years as head coach is this one of the few teams that he has a losing record?
07:23Remember his first year, I believe it was, they swept them.
07:25It was a weekend series at the Garden and they swept them.
07:29It's really their length and physicality.
07:30Some of those teams have given the Celtics problems in the past with these lengthy teams
07:34that force turnovers, that really stop you, slow you down offensively.
07:39Those have given the Celtics some issues.
07:41And I think that's what Orlando does.
07:42They're annoying.
07:43Like, what they're going to do is annoying.
07:44They're going to get up on you.
07:45They're going to pressure you.
07:46They're going to really make you work offensively.
07:49And in the past, I think that's really bothered the Celtics.
07:52I think this iteration of the Celtics where they have so many different ways to punish
07:55you, it's a little bit different.
07:57And that record could be skewed like this year's loss.
07:59I mean, the first one, in fairness, the Celtics were without Jason Tatum, but they were without
08:03Paolo Mankaro and Fran Fogner.
08:05So it was kind of a cancellation there.
08:08The last game of the season, obviously, that just didn't count, right?
08:10We'll just throw that one out the window.
08:12Yeah, no one played for the Celtics.
08:13Nobody played in that one.
08:13And that was a game they had a win to get into the play-in at the seven seed.
08:17So that was one they were going all, and they still couldn't score 100 points.
08:20Like, that's what I'm talking about with the offense.
08:22Like, they had the main Celtics out there and they scored 96 points.
08:25Like, that's the thing.
08:27So I picked this series to go five.
08:29I really do think they can get one.
08:31Just the Celtics will have a bad three-point shoot tonight because that's what they do.
08:34Like, Orlando has built that reputation where they're going to guard the perimeter and the
08:38Celtics will struggle.
08:39And Paolo Mankaro and Franz Wagner have been incredible in the last couple weeks here.
08:43They had a really strong end to the season.
08:45They were nine, won nine of their last 12.
08:47Paolo scored 30, I think, five of those games.
08:50Wagner scored at least 20 in all of them, except for the play-in.
08:53So they're going to get one game, I think, just one night offensively.
08:56They're going to get it.
08:57The Celtics are going to struggle.
08:58But really, this isn't a series the Celtics should sweat.
09:00There's a reason they're minus 8,000 favorites.
09:02It seems like they really missed Jalen Suggs.
09:04Minus 8,000.
09:05Wow.
09:06Oh, yeah.
09:07Suggs is good.
09:07Now that Suggs puts up these crazy numbers, that is more Paolo Mankaro.
09:10That is more Wagner.
09:12But it seems like since he's gone down, you look at what their starting backcourt is going
09:16to be.
09:17That is a major loss.
09:18Yeah.
09:19I mean, he was an all-defensive guard last year.
09:21He's their third-leading scorer, too, in a team that doesn't score very much.
09:24And Mo Wagner, too.
09:25Celtic legend from the back of the Cougar brothers.
09:29Yeah.
09:29I mean, he was their fourth-leading scorer off the bench.
09:32So they've been really – injuries have kind of derailed them all year.
09:35I don't think the 41 and 41 record's really indicative of what they are.
09:40Right.
09:40Because at one point, they were eight games above .500, it was, and they dropped down
09:43to six.
09:43Yeah, they were rolling.
09:43Yeah, right.
09:44Six below .500.
09:46Wow.
09:46And then they got back up to .500.
09:48So injuries have really derailed their season a little bit.
09:51But again, they do things that are going to bother other teams, like their defense.
09:55That's why they're there.
09:56And we saw it against Atlanta.
09:57What they did to Trey Young in the first quarter, I know he got going, but he was scoreless
10:01in the first quarter, and they fell behind almost 20.
10:04So they do the little things.
10:05So I know you've mentioned a bunch, the Western Conference gauntlet.
10:10There's no guarantee it'll be OKC on the other side.
10:13We now know the path for OKC, and it really isn't easy.
10:17They're going to get the winner of Dallas and Memphis.
10:19I mean, I think that's pretty easy.
10:21But then they'll get the winner of Denver and the Clippers in round two, and maybe the
10:25Lakers in the Western Conference final.
10:27I would not want to see that matchup for the Celtics on the other side.
10:30That's the only team I would pick head-to-head to beat the Celtics, east or west.
10:33What's the likelihood OKC gets out of the west?
10:36I'm looking at that Clippers series, man.
10:38That Clippers team is good.
10:39With Kawhi back healthy now, James Harden, good here.
10:42I think they're going to beat Denver.
10:43I think they're going to beat Denver.
10:44I think they've been playing well.
10:47Yeah.
10:47So that's not going to be an easy...
10:49Look, I'd pick OKC in that series.
10:50That's not going to be an easy series, though.
10:52And that's the thing, too, when you're looking at it this way.
10:54And I know there's still, like you said, there's a lot that has to go right between now
10:57and then.
10:57But you're looking at the path for Oklahoma City.
11:00You're going to have to go through Denver or the Clippers.
11:03And when you're looking at the Celtics, it's like you've got Orlando, who you should win
11:06in four or five.
11:07And then you've got the Knicks.
11:08And I think they match up better against the Knicks than they do against the Magic.
11:12We've seen them torment them all year.
11:14Do you think the Pistons can pick off the Knicks?
11:15I think they'll make it close.
11:16I just don't think they have enough right now.
11:18It all depends on Karl-Anthony Towns in that series.
11:20Like if Karl-Anthony Towns shows up, if he really is the player that they went out and
11:24got.
11:24And granted, they wanted him to be a little bit better against the teams against the Celtics and
11:28these better teams, upper echelon teams at the east and west.
11:31They haven't done great against either one of those teams.
11:34But I think if Karl-Anthony Towns shows up and plays well, they're going to win.
11:38I mean, Detroit's a fun story.
11:39They're a great team.
11:40One of the best turnarounds we've ever seen.
11:41Like that team set an NBA record for most consecutive losses last year.
11:46And now they're in the NBA playoffs.
11:48Like it's incredible what they've done.
11:49But I just don't see them beating New York, especially if Karl-Anthony Towns is playing
11:53well.
11:54So that's the one upset pick that I'm taking in the east.
11:57Because I think the Pacers win, obviously, Celtics and Cavs.
11:59In the west, I'm still going to take the Nuggets in that one.
12:02But even that one's not like a real upset.
12:04It's not a true upset.
12:05Now, Rockets-Warriors.
12:06I feel like most people are going to take the Warriors.
12:08It's going to be fun.
12:08Yeah, most people are going to take the Warriors.
12:09But I think that's the Rockets have been cooking all year, like quietly.
12:13Maybe I'm the idiot, but I'll take Golden State.
12:16Suckers bet or buying opportunity?
12:18Honestly, it's probably a sucker's bet.
12:19That feels like maybe a sucker's bet.
12:20But I'm going to take it.
12:21I mean, how good they've been since Jimmy Butler.
12:23It's hard to bet against them.
12:24And I dare he made a run drop coverage against Steph Curry again.
12:27Do it again.
12:28He's already learned his lesson.
12:30Yeah, don't do that.
12:30Again, we're talking about the team, like the Pistons that are on the younger side.
12:34The Rockets are very young.
12:36Oh, yeah.
12:36Going against Steph Curry and Steve Kerr.
12:38That's going to be a tough challenge.
12:40I think Vegas is heavily favoring the Warriors.
12:42Minus 200, I think it was.
12:44I mean, Lakers-Warriors would be, for basketball fans, an awesome crowd.
12:48NBA would love that.
12:49Maybe just pencil the Lakers into the Western Conference final is getting ahead of ourselves with Golden State.
12:54Lakers would beat the Rockets, I think.
12:55But, yeah, maybe I shouldn't pencil that in too quickly.
12:58Episode 7, Celtic City, out this week on HBO Max.
13:01Keith and I reviewed it quickly yesterday.
13:03Two, you know, real, I think, standout storylines or, you know, headline storylines.
13:09The passing of Reggie Lewis, which Shaughnessy said, he's like,
13:13it's the worst story I had to cover.
13:14No good came out of it.
13:15Every day was worse than the next.
13:17It was awful, tragic.
13:18So, that was covered thoroughly.
13:2020, 25 minutes of the episode was spent on Reggie Lewis.
13:24Roughly the rest of it was spent on Patino, who comes across as just a complete clown still to this day.
13:31What did you think of Episode 7?
13:32Yeah, I got a quick brag.
13:33You know, I covered Rick Patino.
13:35Oh!
13:36Covered him last month.
13:37Last month, it was the Johnnies.
13:39Sick brag, bro!
13:39A little bit of a brag.
13:41An outside brag of the week.
13:42Nice!
13:42Good job, the Huggins.
13:43So, I covered him last month for March Madness in the first round, and it feels like nothing's changed.
13:49No.
13:50And it's the funniest thing when he's talking about, like, the D. Brown thing.
13:52He's like, yeah, he wasn't part of our plan, so I don't remember much.
13:55They, like, slipped him a note.
13:57Like, he just died on the trainers, and that's how you caught him?
14:00Or traded him, I mean?
14:01Like, what the hell was that?
14:02D. Brown, rightfully, is still pissed about that.
14:04D. Brown was awesome in this episode.
14:06Tremendous.
14:06And he also was the perfect guy to have on, because he was on the Reggie team.
14:11Actually, he played with McAllen Parrish.
14:13Like, he played with those guys.
14:14Played with Reggie Lewis.
14:16Had to speak to the media after finding out that he died.
14:20Like, I can't imagine being in that situation.
14:22And then, also was a part of the early, horrible Patino era.
14:26And all this negativity that's in this town sucks.
14:29What a rant.
14:30Yeah.
14:30It's an Alzheimer.
14:31What an Alzheimer.
14:32And great that they got him, because he's obviously not going to come across good.
14:36And most guys, when they know they're going to be looked at bad in a documentary, are
14:39going to just say no.
14:40Full credit to Patino for doing it.
14:42Yeah, I'm glad he did.
14:42Now, he looks like a clown.
14:43He is a clown.
14:44But credit for doing it.
14:45I think we said something very, somebody mentioned this to me.
14:47It was very similar to Grady Little being in the comeback.
14:49I'm like, I can't believe you agreed to do it.
14:51Good for you.
14:52You're a moron still.
14:53Right.
14:53But good for you for doing it.
14:54And he steps in and he basically, like, sends Red R. back to, like, the mail room.
14:58He's like, yeah, we don't need you anymore.
14:59Yeah, he changed 12 people's roles, like, immediately coming in.
15:02And took over as president.
15:04And it was Jack McMullen was, like, Red was a celebratory president.
15:08He didn't need to change his title.
15:09You didn't need to do it.
15:10You get to draft your Ron Mercer.
15:11Poor guy's, like, maybe something, probably, like, at the time.
15:13Just loves the Celtics.
15:15Just breeds Celtics.
15:16And they're like, get out of here.
15:16Was it Dee Brown that was telling the story where Patino came over during the timeout and
15:21was like, these people paid good money to see me, coach?
15:23You guys are going to play better.
15:24I just remember this.
15:25How about he told, is it Chris Wallace?
15:27Was that the GM's thing?
15:28Yes.
15:28They wanted him to lose weight?
15:30He told him to lose 50 pounds?
15:3250 pounds.
15:32He's like, we got to look, we got to look like lean and mean or whatever he said.
15:36Your mission.
15:36So your mission is you got to draft weight.
15:38This was in writing.
15:39It's not like he said this behind closed doors.
15:42That was incredible.
15:42I was watching the episode.
15:44Is it Chris Wallace?
15:44Yeah, yeah.
15:45He was the GM for a while.
15:46And so I was watching the episode.
15:48And my wife's, like, on her phone on the couch.
15:51And she, like, looks up.
15:52And they're talking.
15:53Chris Wallace is telling the story that he had to lose all this weight.
15:55And then she's like, was he a player?
15:56And I was like, no, he wasn't a player.
15:58And they still wanted to lose all that weight.
16:00I'd never heard that story before.
16:01Another thing, too, like the Chauncey Billup thing.
16:04Like, I don't think that gets talked about enough.
16:06Like, this dude's a Hall of Famer.
16:07You traded him before his rookie season ended.
16:09Although, you know, it's another really bad trade.
16:11They traded him and Joe Johnson right away.
16:12You think the Clippers are going to look back on trading Shea Gildress Alexander?
16:16And be like, they traded him pretty early.
16:17Was that after a year?
16:18Might have been in year two.
16:20It was pretty early, wasn't it?
16:21That's for your guy.
16:22That's for Paul George.
16:23I know.
16:23I like Paul George.
16:23But how did that work out?
16:24Pretty hard.
16:24Or not to if he's assumingly going to win MVP.
16:27I don't think any of us have him winning MVP.
16:28It feels like he's going to.
16:30He played one season with the Clippers and then they traded him.
16:33And now he's going to be the MVP.
16:34And he's still in his 20s.
16:36But yeah, the whole Patino run was just forgettable.
16:40Although, I remember it was a, you remember where you were situation.
16:44A thousand percent.
16:45Halloween night.
16:46You weren't born yet, Terp.
16:47But 1997, Halloween.
16:48Halloween, they beat the Jordan Bulls, Patino's first game.
16:51That's probably my last year trick-or-treating.
16:53It was a big part.
16:55I remember it was a big group.
16:56Yeah.
16:56Probably not far from the popcorn stand in Goffstown.
16:59It was at a girl's house, Bragg.
17:01Wow.
17:02There's dudes, yeah, guys and gals mingling together in middle school.
17:05Sick Bragg, bro.
17:07And we must have been done trick-or-treating.
17:09Then we went in there.
17:10We watched the end of the Celtics game.
17:11And I'm like, holy smokes, this team's going to be great.
17:13They just beat the Bulls?
17:14They beat the Bulls?
17:15I was so in.
17:16And then they lost pretty much every game after that.
17:18I said this to Nick.
17:19And the Bulls went on to win the title.
17:20I remember.
17:21Nick can vouch for me.
17:22I remember this vividly.
17:23I'm like, I remember that game so well.
17:24And then I know they immediately lost the next five games after that.
17:27Sure did.
17:28We looked it up before the show.
17:29Five straight losses right after that.
17:30They're a mess.
17:31It was unbelievably exciting.
17:33But I'm glad they highlighted this time.
17:35I said this yesterday.
17:35Just because for people our age, there's that window of time where it wasn't the championship team.
17:41They didn't get pierced yet.
17:42I know they get into it here in 98 when they draft them.
17:45But there's that weird kind of no man's land time where you have the awful tragedy of Reggie Lewis.
17:50Then you still have like four more seasons of like, what is this?
17:54They did Dino Raja dirty, by the way, because they were talking about how bad the team was.
17:57Yeah, they showed him.
17:58And they showed him like falling down.
17:59Turn it over.
18:00I'm like, I'm pretty sure he was like an 18 and 10 guy.
18:02Like, Dino Raja wasn't bad.
18:04Hall of Famer.
18:04Because then they're showing like the Marty Conlon team with ML Carr.
18:07And I'm like, no, those are different.
18:08Those are different.
18:09That team with ML Carr was insane.
18:12Reminds me a little of the Patriots now.
18:13They got this big dynasty.
18:15Like, Rick Pitino was just a nicer Gerard Mayo.
18:17Yeah.
18:17Or Gerard Mayo was just a nicer Rick Pitino.
18:19Not wrong.
18:19That's all it was.
18:20Not wrong.
18:20It was just a nicer Rick Pitino.
18:21You were right.
18:22ML Carr.
18:23What was that all about?
18:24Now, hang on.
18:25Now, look.
18:25We're going to do this wide-ranging search for head coach.
18:28I am the head coach.
18:29Who said that?
18:30Was that D. Brown?
18:30D. Brown's like, he did this whole search and he hired himself?
18:33And everyone hated it.
18:34Okay.
18:34So, like, obviously, ML Carr said he got death threats and all these awful messages.
18:38Like, obviously, that shouldn't happen.
18:40And that goes without saying, but, like, him trying to justify that actually he wasn't
18:45really that bad.
18:45Like, no, dude, you were that bad.
18:47No one should threaten your life.
18:49No one should hurl epithets at you.
18:51But, like, you were not good.
18:52Let's not change history now.
18:53You were awful.
18:54I also like Michael Hawley on there telling the story about how even Rick Pitino, like,
19:00sends ML Carr to the draft lottery.
19:03So, like, the face of not getting Tim Duncan is ML Carr.
19:06It's not Pitino.
19:06It doesn't have to be Pitino.
19:07Pretty smart.
19:08That was a cagey move.
19:09That really was.
19:09That really was.
19:11And he stayed with the organization, too.
19:13Like, after his coaching, he bumped down.
19:15I mean, did they?
19:16Well, then did the draft lottery, obviously.
19:17But, like, stayed within the organization.
19:20But they clearly, yeah.
19:21Does he still have a role with the organization?
19:22Like, none of that would shock.
19:24Like, some sort of ceremonial.
19:25Did they fire anybody with the Celtics?
19:27I feel like they really don't.
19:28They move them around.
19:29The players just get.
19:29Yeah.
19:30They're all in ceremonial roles.
19:32It's true.
19:32It is funny because, like, they had such a, you know, we have to hire guys from the Celtics
19:37thing.
19:38Like, whether it's Casey Jones.
19:39I mean, Chris Ford, for God's sake.
19:40So, they don't even really talk about much.
19:42Like, they're all.
19:42It's a forgettable era.
19:43Yeah, it is.
19:43But, like, all those guys were just, oh, he played for the team.
19:47So, he'd be a good GM.
19:48Or, he played for the team.
19:48He'd be a good coach.
19:50Because some of them were, right?
19:51And then others were not necessarily the right call.
19:53But, yeah.
19:54No, I enjoyed it.
19:54I think the episode prior.
19:56The two before where you're getting, like, Isaiah Thomas and Magic Johnson.
19:59They're obviously going to be better.
20:00Those were hard to beat.
20:01The four, five, six have been the best so far.
20:04But, episode seven was good.
20:05Yeah.
20:06No, I think it's gotten better as it goes.
20:08I think we continue to talk about that.
20:10And maybe it's just because you relate to it more.
20:12Like, you understand it a little bit more.
20:13But, I think it's just gotten better and better.
20:15Okay.
20:16Pure hoops with Terp.
20:17A day late.
20:18But, well worth the wait.
20:20We'll see how Jalen Brown looks come postseason.
20:22You got Orlando getting a game off the Celtics.
20:25We have sweeps over here.
20:26We'll talk to you next week.
20:27Terp, thanks for coming in.
20:28Check out Terp on Twitter.
20:30At Justin M. Terp.
20:31And you can check out all his work throughout the Celtics run in the postseason.
20:35I got one text to read.
20:37I remember my brother caught Dino Raja trying to sneak into the movies and framing him with his six-foot-six-tall girlfriend.
