Punjab Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs in a thrilling IPL 2025 clash on April 15. The Shreyas Iyer-led side defended the lowest total in the history of the Indian Premier League in this match. Punjab Kings batters did not justify Shreyas Iyer's decision to bat first as wickets fell at regular intervals. They eventually scored 111 in 15.3 overs. Punjab Kings' highest partnership of the innings was a 39-run stand between openers Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (30). For Kolkata Knight Riders, Harshit Rana scalped three wickets (3/25) while Varun Chakaravarthy (2/21) and Sunil Narine (2/14) scalped two each. Vaibhav Arora (1/26) and Anrich Nortje (1/23) got one apiece. In response, KKR made a shaky start but a 55-run stand between captain Ajinkya Rahane (17) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37) brought the chase back on track. However, both were dismissed in quick time and after that, wickets fell consistently. Andre Russell tried hard with 17 off 11 balls but in the end, Punjab Kings held their nerve to come out on top as KKR were bowled out for 95 in 15.1 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets in one over and was the best bowler for Punjab Kings, taking four wickets (4/28) while Marco Jansen scalped three (3/17). Arshdeep Singh (1/11), Xavier Bartlett (1/30) and Glenn Maxwell (1/5) got one wicket each.
