At dawn of the 29th of November 2024, a year after his passing, members of the Blak Sovereign Movement and some supporters gathered in mourning and celebration of the life of Uncle Kev Buzzacott.
Uncle Kev - an Arabunna sovereign man raised by his Old People, who devoted his life to the protection of sacred waters at Lake Eyre, Wibma Mulka and many other places, particularly in so-called South Australia. No Nuclear on Country was one of his key areas of focus, taking up a fight against Western Mining Corporation (and later BHP) siphoning up to 40 million litres of water per day, for the copper/uranium mine at Roxby Downs (AKA “Olympic Dam Mine).
