Last year Bristol was coined the second most congested city in the United Kingdom, with billions of verhicles miles driven on roads in Bristol. The Bristol streets transport corridor improvement has set out to build a more inclusive, connected city where Bristol tackles travel, congestion and road quality.

01:11absolute manic yeah according to travel west over the next 10 years bristol city council
01:19and west of england combined authority are proposing to introduce significant improvements
01:26to key transport routes across the city this is an ambitious project to improve how people travel
01:33across the city along key transport routes making it easier to connect people to jobs and leisure
01:39opportunities anticipating a growing population and supporting the city's health and economic growth
01:47but what do locals think and what is their experience of bristol roads and travel
01:52and would you like kind of more investment to be made in in helping to reduce congestion in the city
01:58if it was to be investment in public transport yes inexpensive or preferably free oh yeah yeah if
02:08anyone said to me get the bus i'd no chance it just takes so long to get the bus um i think as well
02:15you know there's not a lot of variety there's a lot more kind of you can get well from port's
02:21head you can't really even get a train it's just not a lot of commuting the scheme will support other
02:27transport initiatives such as lcwip local cycling and walking infrastructure plans which will focus on
02:34improving walking and cycling routes in the city the parking strategy which will review parking in the city
02:41the west of england combined authority bus strategy that sets out improvements to bus travel across of
