00:00Mr. Speaker, I wanted to ask you, it's been three months since the wildfires in Los Angeles.
00:07I know Governor Newsom sent in your office a letter asking for additional funding.
00:11Have you been able to review that letter?
00:13Can you tell us a little bit about where those discussions stand on that funding?
00:17Well, look, the California wildfires is something that, you know, it's a request for supplemental emergency spending.
00:24And all of this is kind of wrapped together in all of the deliberations we're making right now.
00:29Reconciliation is the most immediate and urgent thing on our plate, but we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
00:35I'll tell you that there's some internal discussion about it, but it hasn't advanced yet.
00:39But stay tuned on that.
00:40Second row, yes, sir.
00:42HHS Secretary, Robert Kennedy, has now put in a call to the CBC to stop the fluoride in drinking water.
00:51I want to get your thoughts on that, as health advisors have constantly said that they advise against that.
00:56Yeah, it's an interesting issue.
00:58I don't profess to be an expert in chemistry.
01:00I do constitutional law primarily.
01:02But I'll tell you that I think it deserves, from what I've read and from what I understand, it deserves real evaluation.
01:10There's a concern that it may be having a negative effect on the health of children,
01:15and obviously we have an obligation at the federal government level to look into that.
01:19So I'm as interested as you are.
01:20I don't have the answers, but I think it's one that the question has been begged and it needs to be addressed.
01:25Mr. Speaker, thank you, Mr. Speaker.
