रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री (आरडब्ल्यूएफ) यलहंका को न केवल रेलों की धुरी बनाने में महारथ हासिल है बल्कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण और सौर ऊर्जा से विद्युत उत्पादन में भी अग्रणी भूमिका में है। यही कारण है कि इतना बड़ा उपक्रम होने के बावजूद कार्बन उत्सर्जन ना के बराबर है। आरडब्ल्यूएफ में हर तरह की सवारी गाड़ी, माल गाड़ी व मेट्रो ट्रेनों के भी (एक्सल) धुरे बनाए जाते हैं। देश की ऐसी कोई ट्रेन नहीं होगी जिसके धुरे आरडब्ल्यूएफ में नहीं बने हों। इसी को लेकर पत्रिका ने रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री के महाप्रबंधक चन्द्रवीर रमण से मुलाकात की और रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री के बारे में जानकारी ली। उन्होंने बताया कि आसपास के क्षेत्र के पर्यावरण संरक्षण और सुधार की दिशा में फैक्ट्री का पूरा फोकस है। यहां तक सामाजिक सरोकारों में भी रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री पीछे नहीं है।
