Will Rooney reports from Goodison Park.
Transcript
00:00Full time here at Goodson Park and it ends as Evan 1, Arsenal 1. Not a vintage game, a pretty poor job of a fair for 90 minutes, especially the first half.
00:13But it's another step closer to mathematically surviving forever. I think everyone knows Evan already safe, but David Moyes pretty much thinks it now as well.
00:23He's played it down for a long time in the last few weeks, but now he's said that he's going to go and visit Evan's new safe.
00:31He did previously state that he wouldn't do it until Evan mathematically stays safe, which is a clear indication.
00:37David Moyes even thinks that Evan is safe now. I'll say the game where the Vincent affair was pretty drab in the first half.
00:45Really, really lousy quality. I can't remember a shot, a couple of blocked efforts and then 30-odd minutes.
00:51Arsenal took the lead, really outdrawn Trossart. A rare mistake from Andres de Garnier, he got his header wrong.
00:57Raheem Stalin broke it to Trossart and he finished into the far corner, but fair play to Evan.
01:03They came out in the second half, they changed things a little bit and within a minute of kick-off they won a penalty.
01:09Jordan Pickford's long ball picked out the run of Jack Harrison, who got on the wrong side of Mars Lewis Skelly, the Arsenal full-back.
01:16He was hauled down and a penalty was given. Ilham Mendy, back from injury, his first start since returning from a knee injury,
01:24stepped up and nonchalantly finished beyond Arsenal keeper Davo Raya, sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
01:31A really nice finish from Mendy, his ninth goal of the season.
01:35I think that is now, he's had a really fruitful first season here at Everton.
01:40Probably would be on double figures if he hadn't had that lengthy injury.
01:44After that, it was actually Evan who had the next chance.
01:48I'd like to call him basing through on goal, just put it the wrong side.
01:52Davo Raya probably made it a little bit too easy for the Arsenal keeper.
01:55He needed to go across goal, but Arsenal probably had the better of things from there, but he didn't really test Jordan Pickford.
02:02There was one stunning save he made from Gabriel Martinelli.
02:06Actually, it was one that counted because there was a foul on the build-up, but it was a stunning save nonetheless.
02:11Just not long after that, he made a really good save from Martinelli as well, Jordan Pickford, to keep Everton level.
02:18As I say, I've seen it out pretty comfortably.
02:22We've moved another step closer, as I say, to survival.
02:27David Moyes is going to attend the new stadium, which is a massive, massive admission from David Moyes.
02:33He knows now Everton very much. He's known this for a few weeks.
02:37The planning for the Premier League next season, any minor contingency plan maybe of the Championship have very much gone out the window.
02:47He'll be looking at contracts now, etc. He wants to keep around, which is good news.
02:52He'll be looking at budgets and all those sorts of things.
02:56It was the fourth final game here at Goodison, so Everton move to the new stadium, Man City, next to two leagues.
03:03Forrest away next week. Another tough game for Everton. A tough week.
03:07A narrow defeat in the Maid's Side derby, 1-1 draw against second-placed Arsenal.
03:12Go to Forrest next week, their third, and then they've got Man City here.
03:16It's a tough run, but David Moyes said he's really looking forward to it.
03:20Be a real barometer of where this team is, because they have made real strides since David Moyes returned.
03:26He'll want to keep this momentum going.
03:29Not a vintage affair, but sun-kissed day at Goodison Park.
03:34Fourth final time Everton will play. It ends as Everton 1-1 Arsenal.
