00:00getting back into the commanders you know with some of the moves that they've made this offseason
00:06i don't know that i felt great about them but i do feel like they have set themselves up so that
00:12they go into the draft now where they're fine and when you look at what their options are pick number
00:1829 i think trading down to me makes the most sense but at some point too you have to consider that
00:25they need to add elite players still and so there's a balance there if you're adam peters
00:32where they're missing draft picks because they've traded a lot of them there was a lot that went
00:36into the laramie tonsil deal there were a lot that went into the marshall latimore deal obviously
00:40didn't cost a lot for the debo deal when you look at the number of picks that they have traded
00:45versus you might like all three of those deals individually but when you look at the collective
00:51maybe you still feel fine about it but there is no denying that they gave up a lot of draft picks
00:55and so they drafted a lot of dudes last year you know they had nine guys drafted they made the team
01:00they got a couple undrafted guys as well tyler owens was a good special teamer and you know i
01:04think they still have high hopes for jordan mcgee and luke mcafree and ben sinnett and johnny newton
01:09and some of those guys so i i think that they still have some hope for some of the guys that
01:14maybe didn't have a good rookie season but they have flexibility and sometimes we look at these
01:19things and yeah it's nice to have a a quantity of volume of guys but if you get a chance at a real
01:27legit edge rusher or whatever they deem most valuable or best player available if they have
01:32someone that they thought was gone at 15 but it's suddenly they're at 29 i wouldn't blame them on
01:37taking the pick there and making it and and finding out if they can get some more blue chip talents on
01:41this team because really i think at that point that's kind of the stuff that's that's lacking
01:46for this team is the the true difference makers the true star players on this team i think is kind
01:51of what's lacking because you feel good about the depth at this point i think but i think at 29 if
01:56you have the opportunity to get a stud to add some more top end talent to this team jp i think that's
02:03going to make a lot of sense yeah i agree with you tobe i i think there's a better chance of trading
02:10back than landing the game changing stud at 29 but there's something that prevents it from happening
02:16i mean kiddo was what a third rounder our kiddo was a fifth rounder it was a fifth
02:20warner was a third well and this is my other point about this jp that some people look at and say well
02:24now all their first round picks are going to be late and it's practically a second rounder
02:28miss me with that because this is what they get paid to do like you don't get off the hook
02:33or draft picks because you're picking 29th because you're good all of a sudden you got
02:36to hit your draft picks it doesn't matter where you pick whether you're picking second overall
02:39whether you're picking 29th overall you have to hit your draft pick that's what those scouts get
02:43paid for that's why adam peters gets paid the big bucks you've got to hit on these draft picks
02:47and i think they will but it'll be interesting to see how they maneuver in the draft
