00:00The Department of Migrant Workers has intensified their efforts to find the Filipinos who are missing after a strong earthquake hit Myanmar.
00:10They were also able to follow up on the situation of the Filipinos there.

00:19Princess, the number of people who were affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Myanmar and Bangkok, Thailand, reached almost 2,000.
00:29More than 3,000 people were injured and more than 100 people were missing.
00:37The Department of Migrant Workers assured that they are continuously monitoring the situation of the Filipinos in Thailand and Myanmar.
00:44This was after the 2 countries suffered a 7.7 magnitude earthquake last week.
00:50According to the Migrant Workers Department, they are continuously looking for the 4 Filipinos who are missing in Mandalay, Myanmar.
00:57The Department of Foreign Affairs is also in contact with the families of the OFWs in the Philippines,
01:04as well as the Labor Attaché in Bangkok, Thailand, and the authorities in Myanmar.
01:10We are closely coordinating with Sec. Ricky Manalo and Usec Eddevega here in Manila and our embassy in Yangon through our Labor Attaché in Bangkok.
01:21One of our concerns now is if there are OFWs or Filipinos who are in need of help in terms of food, water, and shelter.
01:31In the interview of Radio Pilipinas with Charge d'Affaires Angelito Nayan of the Philippine Embassy in Myanmar,
01:37he assured that they are continuously monitoring the situation of the Filipinos in Myanmar.
01:42In fact, they were able to send an advance team to Mandalay from Yangon to deliver aid to the affected Filipinos there.
01:50They already have area coordinator groups that are formed by volunteer Filipinos.
01:55They will be their allies in delivering humanitarian assistance.
02:00According to Nayan, 800 Filipinos are registered in Mandalay, Myanmar, while 300 are here in Marks Safe.
02:08Some flights to Myanmar are still canceled and the communication signal and supply of electricity and water is still difficult.
02:17But we are doing everything we can to locate all our fellow Filipinos here in Myanmar, especially in Mandalay.
02:25We will continue to monitor their situation and we are doing everything we can to help every Filipino here in Myanmar.
