Malaysia’s largest trilingual book fair, BookFest @ Malaysia, is back at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from now till April 6.

With the theme "Gateway to Knowledge," the event, which is into its 19th edition, celebrates the limitless possibilities of reading, where every book opens a new world of wisdom, discovery and imagination.

00:26Bookfest at Malaysia 2025 will showcase over 500 booths featuring a vast selection of Chinese,
00:33English and Malay literature, along with educational tools, IT gadgets and collectibles.
00:40Visitors can also enjoy diverse activities, including author-sharing sessions, a children's
00:46choir competition, an anime and comic cosplay event and cooking demonstrations by chefs.
00:52Popular Holdings Limited Chairman Yu Chi-Shing highlighted the festival's role in fostering
00:57a reading culture.
01:16Yu also said this year, visitors can support the cause by purchasing the Hope for Reading
01:21Limited Edition Bookmark Postcards and Tote Bags, with proceeds benefiting the campaign.
01:28Furthermore, the popular The Star Reader's Choice Awards and popular B.H. Anugrah Pilihan
01:34Pembaca continue to honour outstanding local authors.
01:38Introduced in 2008, these awards aim to celebrate literary excellence in English and Malay,
01:45respectively, in partnership with Star Media Group and Berita Harian.
01:50Meanwhile, Deputy Communications Minister Theo Nee Ching stressed the importance of
01:55reading in today's fast-changing digital landscape.
01:59In this era of digital transformations, communications and knowledge dissemination has never been
02:06more critical.
02:08As a rapidly developing nation, Malaysia must harness the power of both traditional and
02:15digital media to cultivate a well-informed and knowledgeable society.

02:43In line with its commitment to education, Popular presented 30,000 ringgit in donations
02:49to Rumah Hope, Yayasan Sunbeams Home, House of Love and Shelter Home for Children under
02:55the Children's Carnival 3.0 at Popular Campaign.
