00:00Right, okay Declan, something very special today. We're doing your best of Glasgow.
00:04Yep.
00:05Right, favourite restaurant?
00:06I would need to say two restaurants. I would say La Lanterna and the Spanish Butcher.
00:12La Lanterna, probably for pasta. One of my favourite restaurants here on Hope Street and in Great Western Road.
00:19And Spanish Butcher, best steak in Glasgow.
00:22Best pub?
00:23Best pub.
00:25I'd need to say my local, which is the Woodside Inn, but I do like Ginty Ginty's for a Guinness, so there's another two, just so I don't annoy anybody.
00:35Your best coffee spot?
00:38UCB Deli. I know that's technically a deli-cum-restaurant, but nothing beats a UCB's cappuccino,
00:45especially if you get a wee donut with it if you're in early enough in the morning.
00:50Favourite venue?
00:52Barrowlands Ballroom. All the big gigs I've saw in Glasgow, whether it be Paul McCartney and all that have happened in the Hydro,
00:58but the Barrowlands are just really special. A lot of special memories from going to gigs when I was a wee guy there with my brother.
01:05Going there regularly, so yeah, I don't think anything beats walking up the gallery gate.
01:10You see the Barrowlands flashing lights, you go up the stairs and it's just like you can write a passage.
01:15I absolutely love the Barrowlands.
01:17Favourite building?
01:19Favourite building? Probably Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Spent a lot of time in it as a wee guy, wondering about and all that stuff.
01:26You obviously get the myths about it's back to front and all that stuff, but I still love Kelvingrove Art Gallery and love walking past it.
01:33Favourite band?
01:35Favourite Glasgow band? I'll say the Blue Nile. I love the Blue Nile.
01:42I've never had the chance to see them live, obviously. I saw Paul Buchanan play at the Royal Concert Hall last year, but I love the Blue Nile.
01:50I walk across the rooftops, it's one of my favourite albums of all time, so it's hats.
01:55Also, love Franz Ferdinand's Simple Minds, but I'll go for the Blue Nile.
02:00Favourite outdoor space?
02:02I would say Kelvingrove Park. Every day during lockdown, when you were allowed back out to walk,
02:08I was in that park pretty much every day and have trod about every inch of it.
02:13So, Kelvingrove Park for me, just really, really nice, no matter what time of year it is.
02:18And obviously now Kelvinway's pedestrianised, you can walk down that and it's stunning, whether it's autumn, summer, winter.
02:25So, Kelvingrove Park.
02:27And Glasgow Hero?
02:29I know the obvious answer is Billy Connolly, but I'll go for Jimmy Reid.
02:35From Govan, a man of principle, a really strong character.
02:40And I would say, I went back to my high school after I'd left and left university and stuff,
02:46and I used him as an example of somebody's resilience and stuff, so I'll go for Jimmy Reid.
02:52Amazing.
