00:00Filipinos in the vulnerable sector can now afford to buy 30 kilos of TIG-29 pesos of rice.

00:19In her household, the senior citizen, Trining, is spending her family's daily expenses.

00:27Because of her hard-earned income, TIG-29 pesos of rice, allocated by the Department of Agriculture, is a big help to her.

00:37But Trining's mother can save more.

00:40The previous 10 kilos of rice that can be bought, was tripled by her.

00:46Sometimes, we can buy 60 kilos of rice.

00:49Now, we can buy 48, 58, 52 kilos.

00:54With the help of TIG-29 pesos, we can save more.

01:02How can you afford to buy rice now that you are old?

01:06With medicines and vitamins.

01:10Up to 30 kilos of TIG-29 pesos of rice can be bought by the vulnerable sector.

01:16Like the senior citizens, there are old people, solo parents, and indigents under the P-29 Rice Program of the Administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

01:29According to her, her goal is to reduce the cost of food for the poorest Filipinos.

01:37This is a help from the government, especially to the vulnerable sectors like senior citizens, indigents,

01:46so that they can buy and get rice for their families.

01:53The DA has a budget of 5 billion pesos for the program.

01:57It is expected that the farmers will benefit from this during harvest season.

02:05By increasing the amount of rice that the vulnerable sectors can avail or can access from 10 kilos to 30 kilos,

02:13definitely, the buffer stocks of the NFA will be released,

02:21so more space will be available for the NFA to buy more rice from the farmers, especially during the harvest season.

02:30Currently, the NFA buys rice from the farmers for 18 to 24 pesos, depending on whether it is dry or wet.
