This video was captured on the bodycam of a Frankfort Indiana Police officer who was responding to the scene of a fire. The shaky video shows the officers arriving at the location where a family of six, including a baby, were trapped on the second floor of the house by the flames below. Luckily, one of them finds a nearby ladder and they begin to ascend and rescue. Veuer’s Tony Spitz has the details

00:12were trapped on the second floor of a house by the flames and smoke below.
00:15Luckily, one of the officers finds a nearby ladder, and they begin to ascend and rescue.
00:20Get out. Get out. Get out.
00:22Can I have your kid? Can I have your baby?
00:24Just give me the car seat. She's good.
00:26We're fine.
00:27It's fine.
00:28You can hear the mother of the child pleading with the officer to be careful before handing her over.

00:36Shortly after, the rest were aided out the window and were able to descend the ladder and get out of harm's way.
00:41The Frankfort Police Department said in a statement that all family members exited the burning building safely,
00:47and the officers involved are now set to be awarded medals for their heroism,
00:50with Police Captain Evan Hall saying about his recommendation to award all officers involved the Medal of Valor,
00:56They all showed an extraordinary act of bravery by removing a total of six occupants out to safety under extreme stress and life-threatening conditions.
