Bianca Roses talks with Parade following her boot from Survivor 48.
Transcript
00:00Yeah, I mean, I need to start with the lot of feelings that you had towards the end of
00:07all this. I mean, devastation would sort of be an understatement to describe at least
00:11our perspective as to the expression that was on your face as you realize you were being
00:16voted out. What what was that feeling? Was it surprise? Was it you know, that immediate
00:21regret of like, why did I tell Cedric that I didn't have a vote? What was going through
00:25your head in those moments? Yeah, you're doing a great Jeff Probst right now. What was that
00:30feeling? Learn from the best. It was, it was just utter devastation. The second I saw my
00:39name written down, like on the first parchment, I knew I was a goner. I was about to get whacked.
00:46Like I knew it. And it was just I felt like I did it to myself, right? Like I was just
00:51like, I made that decision. It didn't pan out. And I was just utterly devastated. Like
00:56I had so much game left in me. My back was against a wall, right? Like no vote, bottom
01:04of the tribe swap, like so much to come back from. And I was so ready to still come back
01:10from it. And it didn't pan out. And I was just heartbroken. Do you have any sense because
01:16we as fans are still trying to figure out like, it was a 211, which I guess, congratulations,
01:21you were the victim of the first 211 vote. I saw that. I was like, Oh, okay, cute making
01:26history. So did you get a sense though, as to why, you know, Chrissy, Mitch and Cedric
01:32didn't vote together? Were they splitting in case you had an idol? Was it just Cedric
01:35and Chrissy making a move together? I will just say, make it make sense. Like I, it's
01:43a mystery. Like there's right, like I wasn't completely wrong going into tribal, right?
01:49Like Mitch, the two alliances did not vote together. Like they didn't say voted for Chrissy
01:57Mitch voted for say, and then Cedric and Chrissy worked together. Like a lot of this just isn't
02:04adding up. So listen, after I told Cedric that I didn't have a vote, it was moments
02:11before we went to tribal. Like I strategically waited and I watched him like a hawk. Like
02:18I was like googly eyed, crazy, paranoid survivor player. I was like, if he goes to talk to
02:25anyone, like this is going to be an issue. So I don't know what happened. Like I just
02:31I don't have an answer, but it didn't work out for me. That's for sure. Well, of course,
02:36we need to get into what made you make this this last minute confessional because we see
02:40you making personal bonds with say and with Mitch. So right. So if I say, you know, going
02:46to Cedric, of all people came a little bit of out of nowhere. So talk to me about the
02:50back and forth you had and the choice to tell him at the last minute.
02:55There was a lot that wasn't shown with me and Cedric making a relationship a lot. We
03:01had very intimate life conversations. And it's a short amount of time, right? Like I
03:06was only on see it new Siva for a couple days. But we had like a ton of really intense bonding
03:11moments that weren't shown. There was a conversation Cedric and I had about Cedric telling me that
03:19Justin went home because Justin did not tell him that he didn't have a vote that wasn't
03:24shown. You know, not shown was me telling Cedric, like, say is gunning for you. Like
03:32I tried to work with you two and say wants you out. So like, for me, it wasn't there
03:39was a lot that just wasn't shown about that. And I ended up choosing Cedric to trust because
03:44my logical brain was like, Mitch and Chrissy are not keeping you like they they want loggy
03:52numbers down, right? And say, in hindsight, I should have worked with say, but I just
03:59I felt like I had made a connection and a bond with Cedric. And I don't know what that
04:03man did. Like, I don't know what that decision was. I don't know what game he's playing.
04:08I don't know what his strategy is. But yeah, I just think that that's why it was to try
04:14to build trust and a lot just wasn't shown about, you know, the conversation Cedric and
04:19I were having.
04:20Listen, we know you are a master of the spin and you were able to keep that tribe spun
04:25around for a good portion of time, right? Trying to make this two to tie happen so that,
04:29you know, you were able to escape the tiebreaker, though. You didn't know that Cedric had the
04:33possibility of facing rocks, you know, earlier. So how much were you able to sort of let that
04:39narrative get led along? Or was one of the reasons why you told Cedric you had a feeling
04:43like this to to wouldn't end up working out?
04:45I didn't I was worried about the two to because and I wasn't I was worried about it because
04:52then it's like, okay, I lied to everyone, which comes out. And then I was also like,
04:57in the in the deadlock set is gonna have to flip anyway, right? Like in order so we don't
05:03go to rocks. So I was, I was just like, if he's gonna have to flip, I might as well just
05:08give him a heads up and let him in on the vote. And I did feel right before we went
05:13to tribal, I did feel like I could trust Mitch and Chrissy. And I wasn't completely wrong,
05:19right? Like Mitch didn't vote for me. So it was it was definitely that had a lot to do
05:25with it too. Like I wanted to get him in and build a little trust with him and not have
05:32to get to the point where he was just gonna flip on say anyway. And again, like I had
05:36been told by Cedric by say, this man had written her name down multiple times tried to get
05:43her out. I was like, this can't be the hardest thing in the world to get him to vote for
05:47her again. But apparently it was.
05:51Obviously, the worst case scenario plays out in this episode. And perhaps it starts when
05:55you find out that your number one Thomas was taken out in this wild fashion. So talk to
06:01me about the relationship the two of you were able to broker and how much did losing
06:05him impact the way that you moved forward in that round?
06:09Yeah, I mean, Thomas is literally like, I could use this entire interview to talk about
06:14him if I could. I love him so much. I'm obsessed with him. It was fantastic to play with him
06:21and have him as my number one. I'm not gonna lie, though, like it definitely impacted my
06:27decision making because I was like, Okay, I no longer have a number one. Joe and Eva
06:31are out in the open like I was trying to kind of slide in and work with Cedric and kind
06:37of like replace say and be his number one moving forward. But I did go back and I was
06:44like, guys, I'm way less of a threat like Thomas is gone. So this isn't like necessarily
06:51Siva showdown. So I did use his vote out to my advantage in a way. And I even said that
06:57a tribal which wasn't shown either because there was a little bit of chatter about Siva
07:01versus loggy. So I definitely tried to use it to my advantage. And I don't think I was
07:07like so broken that Thomas was gone that I blew up my whole game like that wasn't it
07:12the decision was to try to build trust and it didn't pan out.
07:16You mentioned Joe and Eva, I would be remiss not to talk about what you got to experience
07:22because you had been living with them for an entire week and not entirely sure about
07:27everything that Eva was going through. So So give me your reaction to that. And how did
07:31that make you look back in retrospect upon you know, your relationship with the two of
07:35them on loggy? Yeah, totally. It was it was an insanely emotional and powerful moment.
07:42Um, you know, I think even viewers can say like, we've never seen something like that.
07:49And it was so crazy to be like, on day 11 of no sleep, no food, nothing and like, have
07:59this crazy, powerful experience and learn something about her after living with her
08:05for so long that I didn't know, and then have to click into game mode and think about like,
08:11wow, how does this impact my game? Like, they've had this intense bond that we kind of knew
08:18about, but like not to this extent. Now it's revealed to everyone like what does this mean
08:23for me going forward? And it was just a really good reminder of like, on a on a human level,
08:30like you never know the full story, right? Like you never know what what someone's going
08:35through. We're like the full story about them. Um, it was it was really powerful.
08:40Well, speaking of Eva, I mean, before the swap happened, you know, we saw a little bit of
08:44plotting with Thomas and star of, okay, maybe we can help her find the idol and she can use it to
08:50take out Eva. What do you think if loggy had gone to a tribal council? Have you had stuck in this
08:56formation? Because you didn't have a vote. But yeah, we're still this plotting going on. What
09:00do you think would have happened? So without the vote, it would have had to been star just so it
09:06wasn't me because what they didn't show to was like me Shaheen Joe and Thomas were also very
09:13closely aligned. So I kind of I wasn't an idiot. Like I knew these three boys were working together
09:19and I'm sorry, girls were working together. And I knew it was like me and Eva kind of as like the
09:26next slot. So had I had a vote, I was gunning for Eva just because I felt like she was the threat
09:33to me. But without the vote, star would have just been the easy bow and we would have had to go with
09:38her. Well, had you had a vote on new Siva? What would you have done? Because again, for a while
09:45you were being pitched as the swing between these two. Yeah. Yeah, I've gone with one of those
09:49would you have tried to configure something else? I think the real answer is I would have gone with
09:57Cedric and say because I wouldn't have wanted to bring more Siva into the merge against loggy.
10:05So I think that's like my honest answer. But you never know, right? Like there could have been
10:11other conversations that happened. And, and my genuine heart wanted to work with Mitch so badly.
10:18I love that man. And I right hindsight is everything. Like he didn't vote for me. He
10:25did really want to work with me. And it's crazy because I went with my brain and was like, there's
10:32no shot Mitch would ever want to keep me. But maybe I would have gone with him. Who knows? I
10:38think I think I would have voted for say, well, let's do some more forecasting here. So looking
10:43ahead to the merge, again, you were just trying to get there. You were one step away. Oh, what
10:49would it have been? Because it sounds like you were outlining like maybe trying to make a loggy
10:54Vula configuration was that eyeballing? Well, that was my big pitch to said to that they didn't
11:01really show which was I'm bringing you with me like I'm welcoming you with open arms into
11:08loggy. And I was like, no one at this point, like I love say she's hilarious and fantastic.
11:15But at this point, so many people, even people that hadn't met her and like, just from interactions
11:22that you get at the challenges with other tribes, like a lot of people just didn't want to work with
11:28her. Like there was my whole tribe was just like, we're not going to work with her when we get to
11:32the merge. And basically, like, I was just trying to tell Cedric, like, come with me to the loggy
11:39side. So that was what I was thinking. And I was just trying to survive the night, but also like
11:47have one ally Thomas is gone, right? Like, when I get back to camp, had I not told one person about
11:54my vote being lost, I would have lied to everyone. Like I was just trying to bring him in a little
11:59bit on the vote. And it just it didn't pan out. Well, I mean, the whole thing that led to this
12:05loss vote was you being picked on the journey, we your thoughts about dice have been well publicized.
12:12And you know, when we talked out there, you had said, you got to get creative, you got to prepare
12:16for the curveballs that are being thrown your way. And for what it's worth, you did really try to be
12:21creative there. But what did you think ultimately about, you know, the journey that you went on? I
12:27know that fans find it a little controversial that you were forced to risk your vote on a game
12:31of chance that you didn't really have any skill involved in? Yeah, no, it definitely sucks. Like,
12:36I'm not gonna sit here and be like, Oh, it's the game. Like it is the game. But it sucks. Like I
12:41didn't want to risk my vote. I signed up for this, though. Like, I have been watching survivor
12:47forever. I know things change at every turn. And I do feel like I was as upset as I was that
12:55I lost my vote and then got put on the bottom of a merge swap. Like it was still so exciting to me
13:01to have a challenge to take on. And it didn't work out, which sucks. But like, I was trying to figure
13:06out the cracks and trying to figure out the way out. So there, there's also an element to it.
13:12That's like, when you're on the couch, you're like, don't go on that journey. And as a player,
13:17I knew don't go on that journey. But I Thomas and I were like elected by the tribe to be the
13:22journey goers. So you know not to go but it's also like I'm playing survivor and I want to play
13:29and I want to do it. So yeah, I mean, fuck the journey. But, but at the same time, like,
13:40you, you go on the journey and then you get the opportunity to make it still work and figure it
13:46out. Right. And there are so many things like once you get food in you and like one good night's
13:52sleep, like, I immediately was like, Oh my god, I should have given Chrissy and Mitch my shot in the
13:58dark to like, cement trust with them. I couldn't use it anyway. Right? Like I should have given it
14:03to them and been like, guys, I'm with you tonight. Like take this like so many things come crawling
14:09back into your head when you're like well fed and rested. So I had a lot of those.
14:15I mean, yeah, for what it's worth, again, you talked about your like insatiable work ethic,
14:20and you show that even on little sleep, little food, given the corner that you kind of found
14:24yourself in. And so look, I wish that we were having this conversation, you know, in a while
14:29from now, I wish you had made that next step to the merge. But for what it's worth, you really
14:34tried to put your all into every single moment you had out there. And that is that is a huge
14:40thing to take away. I mean, this is something you've been dreaming of since the days of survivor
14:43freak 815. And you've inspired people with their own freaky survivor handles to come on and
14:49follow in your footsteps. You're the best Mike, I really appreciate that. Thank you, of course.
14:54And I really appreciate you. And I'm really looking forward to you know, seeing what happens
14:58next as well. I know this is not the last conversation that we're going to have. So thank
15:02you, as always, for being an incredible person to interview and talk with this was such a great
15:07time to get your insight into everything as well. And I'm really looking forward to seeing what
15:11happens next. You're the best Mike. Thank you so much. Of course. Thank you. Have a great day.
15:18Bye. Bye.
