00:00You can see the wind's going to pick up farther north, and these fire weather watches and red flag warnings
00:05are kind of the first part of this weekend weather scenario here, with the wind picking up and then severe
00:11thunderstorms rolling into the midwest and the south, driven by this western storm system.
00:15We're going to see spring snow and ice near the international border, way north into the upper midwest
00:20and the New England states, and moisture is returning to the west here, taking a big bite out of the heat.
00:25The ridge is going to get beaten down by this disturbance, so that shifts the warmth into the east,
00:32and thunderstorms are going to be moving through the Ohio Valley, the midwest, and parts of the Gulf Coast.
00:37So north, one of the big stories this weekend will be some ice. This is kind of the secondary story.
00:42I wanted to kind of get this story out of the way here, because severe weather has more longevity than Monday.
00:47But Sunday, freezing rain in northeast Wisconsin and northern parts of Michigan.
00:52South of that icy and occasionally snowy zone, this thunderstorm threat is going to be the biggest hazard
00:58that we face, and it comes in two parts. The first one rolls in, again, number one.
01:03It's supposed to be number one there. That's kind of an ugly one.
01:05Saturday and Saturday night, sliding into the lower Mississippi Valley and into Mississippi.
01:10That one runs out of gas, and then the second storm system, let's see if we can do better with a two.
01:15All right, that's a B. We're going to be dealing with some thunderstorms on Saturday evening and night.
01:20So later than the first round, into the southern plains and into the Ozarks.
01:24And then that second storm system becomes more aggressive into the lower Ohio Valley on Sunday.
01:29Bigger area, though, faces some risk of severe storms with wind, the risk for an isolated tornado.
01:34And then that pulls east, bringing the severe thunderstorm threat to the mid-Atlantic and the southeast on Monday.
