00:00What is it like when you're figuring out the look for somebody like, I'll just say it, Abby, for example?
00:07Well, finding Abby's look was so much fun.
00:10It was incredible, but I am so fortunate that I have the source material in the game to start with and
00:16Abby's look in the game was incredibly iconic and
00:20thankfully Craig and Neil were very open to letting me sort of like take the ideas from the game and then run with it.
00:27So, you know, and that's what I did. Where did you want to start there? Was it the boots? Was it like ground up?
00:32Where do you usually go when you are outfitting characters?
00:36Well,
00:37each piece is so important and each piece is gonna define who this person is. But yeah, definitely the boots.
00:43I'm not gonna lie. They change the way you walk. They change your whole silhouette and
00:49she wears those boots the entire season. So they were pretty amazing.
00:54Definitely a pretty important piece of footwear.
00:57But even when you look at like Ellie's journey, for example, this is now going from a 14 year old to a 19 year old.
01:04How did you want to like show the progression?
01:06Also, just the fact that like she's independent now and living a different life than she was before. That's true.
01:13That was an amazing,
01:15amazing experience working on,
01:18you know, creating Ellie with Bella.
01:22Bella's voice is
01:24so inspiring to me and
01:28where they wanted to take Ellie was also important and we spent a lot of time in the fitting rooms
01:35crafting the character and
01:37and finding the right jeans, finding the right boots. We made
01:43some of her, some of their hoodies.
01:46We made a lot of pieces for Ellie that I
01:51wanted them to be special, you know, and only Ellie's and Bella was very into that.
01:57So we had a great time. That is the art. That's the collaboration of all of this.
02:01Yeah. Do you have a favorite piece of costuming from this season? One that, you know,
02:06just either took a million hours to make or just one that's just particularly like dear to your heart?
02:10Well, we made over, I think we custom-made close to a thousand costumes this season.
02:16So it's really hard for me to pick a favorite.
02:19There were, you know,
02:21it's, it's
02:23incredibly hard to pick a favorite. I mean, there were some beautiful,
02:26beautiful things that I can't wait for everybody to see this season.
02:29And it's one of those things too that all of these things do have to be suitable for like negative 22 degree filming temperatures.
02:37It's no big deal. It's no easy feat. Not at all.
02:39But thankfully we were in a wonderful position to make the parkas
02:45for Joel and for Ellie and for Abby and so we could make sure that they were all
02:52warm and they kept dry in the snow and those very, very chilly temperatures up there in Alberta.
