00:00There was a National Academy of Science report that came out that estimates one out of every 25
00:04people on death row is innocent. If that's the case, that means if we move forward executing
00:10737 people in California, we will have executed roughly 30 people that are innocent.
00:17I don't know about you, I can't sign my name to that.
01:00But in the state of Texas, if you come into our state and you kill one of our children,
01:07you kill a police officer, you're involved with another crime and you kill one of our citizens,
01:12you will face the ultimate injustice in the state of Texas, and that is you will be executed.
01:42But we don't want to join Saudi Arabia. We don't want to perpetuate what's happening in North
01:54Korea. And to the victims, all I can say is we owe you and we need to do more and do better.
