Transcript
00:00A mother called the shop and said,
00:01hey, can I come in and get my infant's ears pierced?
00:04She's six weeks old.
00:05And I said, no, I don't do that.
00:08And she said, well, why not?
00:10And I said, well, because it's a health and safety
00:14risk for your child.
00:24I could go on forever with the risks involved
00:27in why you should not pierce infant's ears.
00:37You got an infant child whose ears hurt,
00:40and unless mom and dad are going to not sleep for four months
00:44and they're going to constantly monitor their child
00:47to literally 24 hours a day, seven days a week
00:50to keep their child from sticking their hands
00:52in their mouth and then touching their ears,
00:56there's going to be an issue while healing that's
00:59a potential infection right there.
01:04A six-month-old baby, a six-week-old baby,
01:08a one-year-old baby, nobody in any of those age brackets
01:13is even remotely capable of giving their own consent
01:19to get pierced.
01:27Don't rob your kids of that experience
01:30by doing it when they're six weeks old
01:33and having them grow up with crooked, uneven piercings.
01:41It's just, just don't do it.
