00:00Hey there, it's Kyle MacLachlan for Brut.
00:11Cooper has had such an impact on my career.
00:18I think it's what most people know me as, I think.
00:24It's fascinating.
00:26He's a character that I feel like there's still more to learn, to understand, to grasp.
00:33And who knows, maybe someday I'll have that opportunity.
00:47I was very happy that the suit still fit. That was great.
00:52It was a little... I was a little nervous.
00:55I hadn't stepped back into his shoes for quite a long time.
01:00And I think I knew going in that it was going to be different.
01:03I'm different. It's many years later.
01:05So it wasn't like I was trying to recreate someone that existed a long time ago.
01:12And I just allowed whatever the influence of time had been on me to also influence Dale Cooper.
01:20Although in some ways I do feel he's sort of timeless.
01:29Yeah, he's always around. He was always around.
01:32And David and I know each other. David Lynch and I are good friends and we hang out a lot.
01:36I would always just poke him a little and just say,
01:41are you thinking anymore about Twin Peaks or making any more Twin Peaks?
01:44And he was always, no, no, not going to do it.
01:47Don't really have any stories.
01:49So I was quite surprised when it came back around again.
01:59It was not as intimate, certainly.
02:01Social media has really had a huge impact that way.
02:04The immediacy and the direct relationship with the fans and also the feedback from the fans.
02:11Whether it's positive or negative, they let you know straight away, which is really helpful.
02:17Most of the impact came from just on television,
02:21where either response to movie magazines or interviews possibly.
02:31I think talk shows.
02:35There was really no way to get an appreciation or kind of an impact, I guess,
02:42from how people were responding to the show.
02:47There's a great affection for these characters, a great love for these characters.
02:56The fans really celebrate. They really enjoy Twin Peaks.
02:59They love the world of Twin Peaks and I want to celebrate it with them.
03:05So that's why I support the community and their creativity.
03:14It's one of the interesting things that the show inspires such wonderful artistry,
03:20usually in the form of drawings or that kind of medium.
03:25But in so many, many ways, even baking.
03:29There were some fantastic Twin Peaks cakes that I featured not too long ago.
03:35So it's that kind of impact that it's had that really sparks people's creativity.
03:42Sometimes they'll call out Cooper or they'll say something about coffee or pie.
03:48But mostly on the streets, I think people are just sort of not quite sure what to do, actually.
03:54I get a lot of responses on social media, again though, Instagram or Twitter,
03:59about interpretation and things, or people will share with me their lines or their love of coffee.
04:08And of doughnuts.
04:10And of doughnuts, yeah. This is from M&S, the bakery. So look at that, we have doughnuts.
04:15So yesterday I put out on my feed, where do you get a good doughnut in Paris?
04:19And obviously, I have my answer.
