00:00One day I got an email from my dad. He had been telling me actually that he was going to write a novel in his retirement
00:06He just didn't tell me what it was about it came in the inbox and I immediately knew it was pornography
00:13the first line is
00:15Belinda blinked the job interviewer asked her to remove her jacket and silk blouse and I I knew then that he'd been writing porn in
00:22the garden shed
00:31I'm so then after throwing up a lot and drinking an awful lot. I caught up James and Alice my two
00:37good friends and
00:40Asked him to meet me in the pub
00:42To do some more drinking and read the book to them because I thought well
00:46I've got to share this stuff with somebody and so he raced there and then he told us his dad had written an erotic novel
00:52and we're like stop reading right now get the wine in and
00:56Yeah, we we cleared the pub we were in we were like so loud laughing it was so funny
01:16We never wanted the show to be kind of mean or kind of snide in its tone
01:21we wanted it to be really inclusive and and kind of open up a dialogue about this sort of stuff in a nice friendly way and
01:27We think we kind of have done that
01:29Yeah
01:29I think we're a bit squeamish in in the beginning and sometimes we'd say stuff and then realize that oh no
01:34That's just kind of that's a kink or that's just something that someone's into
01:37It's been a really unorthodox route into understanding my dad but understanding my do now
01:44just because he has kind of showed a different side to him and
01:49That is to be applauded
01:51You know, he's written this book and he's kind of in his retirement taking on a whole new career path, which I'm thinks pretty cool
01:56I mean, he's not good at it
01:58So I'm glad that he's back and he's got a new career and he's got a new job
02:02Yeah, I think people should really kind of just take a look at their parents and in a bit more of a
02:07Kind of personal way and be like these are great people, you know
02:11and that just because they've been a role in your life for so long doesn't mean that you can't
02:15Redefine that relationship when you get older and kind of understand what makes them tick and kind of what quirks they have
02:20At the end of the day, he was a guy who
02:24was a
02:25Yes
02:55the last laugh. He has and he'll keep going. I mean he's on 15, 16 at this point. Oh, at
03:00least. We cannot stop him. No, we've tried.
