00:00The House Prosecution Panel agreed that they are not pressuring the Senate

00:04following their motion to ask Senate President Francis Cheese Escudero

00:09to issue a wreath of summons for Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:14Escudero said that they will do it.

00:17This is what Mela Lesmora said.

00:22We are not pressuring. We are doing our job.

00:25We also want to campaign.

00:27But we will have a culpable violation of the Constitution

00:31if we do not do our job.

00:34This is what House Minority Leader Marcelino Libana

00:38who is now standing as the head of the House Prosecution Panel

00:42called upon a new motion in the Senate

00:44regarding the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:48Under their entry with motion to issue summons,

00:51the prosecution team formally asked Senate President Francis Escudero

00:56to issue a wreath of summons for Vice President Sara

00:59who will also be responsible for answering the articles of impeachment

01:03within 10 days of the adoption of the law.

01:06What does this mean?

01:08First, we are declaring that the House is ready.

01:15And according to the rules of impeachment of the Senate,

01:21if there is a file of impeachment complaint in the Senate,

01:27the Senate shall start the proceedings forthwith.

01:32Start immediately. What does forthwith mean?

01:35Without delay. Right away.

01:38According to SP Escudero,

01:40he has not yet seen the motion issued by the House.

01:43But they will help their legal team and take action.

01:47Congressmen are hoping that this will be approved immediately

01:50and even if it goes through the Senate,

01:54they are confident that they did the right thing.

01:57We are of the opinion that our motion is legally sound.

02:00However, we do understand that the good Senate President

02:03might have a differing opinion

02:05and thus we would understand the reason for them to refer it to their legal team.

02:09But we remain confident that our submission is in line with our legal theory.

02:13At the moment, Vice President Duterte is still in The Hague, Netherlands.

02:18Even if the motion is approved and he is not in the Philippines yet,

02:21congressmen say that he can hand over his position to our consulate there.

02:27But it is still better if he will personally hand over his position here in the country.

02:32VP Sara was the first one to step down for preventing him from the camera

02:36even though the lawmakers have already condemned him

02:38that he should just explain about the issues he is facing.
