00:00It was the investigator of the case of one of the victims of the Umanoy extrajudicial killings

00:06who said that they should just wait for the termination of the former President Rodrigo Duterte

00:12before they file a case.

00:14That's what Shira Escudero, the sister of Ephraim Escudero,

00:19who was involved in the drug war of the former administration.

00:23In the program Mike Abby Live,

00:25Shira accused his brother of going to his brother's repair shop in Laguna in September 2017.

00:34But he didn't make it and his body was found dead in Angeles, Pampanga.

00:41It is believed that he was collateral damage or was just involved in the war on drugs.

00:49And now, the International Criminal Court is taking action

00:52that they have already investigated before.

00:55They see the hope now for justice to be served.

01:01For our families of the IJK victims,

01:06the ICC investigation is like a light in the middle of the darkness.

01:11For us, this is a big step and an answer to the long-awaited justice.

01:20I remember what the investigator told us,

01:23that we should just file a case after the termination of President Duterte.
