A man has been found dead at Taman Silibin in Ipoh and police believe he was electrocuted while trying to steal cables.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said they received a call at 6pm on Monday (March 24) that a man was found dead at Persiaran Rishah 27 near a petrol station close to the Ipoh-Lumut road.

00:29He said a witness had recorded a video at the scene showing the deceased with another
00:34suspect cutting a TNB cable when the cable exploded.
00:40The impact caused both men to lose consciousness.
00:43The second suspect later regained consciousness and fled the scene on a motorcycle.
00:50Authorities have classified the case as sudden death.
00:53Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had a criminal record with 10 prior
00:59offences related to violent crimes and property offences.
