00:00Hello and welcome to Watch Mojo Español, I am Jackie and today we will know the worst
00:07crimes that have been committed in Latin America in the decade of the 90s.
00:13Around 200 children, victims defenseless of their depraved evil, found a tragic fate
00:20at the hands of this predator.
00:23Number 10.
00:24The murders of San Valentín.
00:36Known by the media as the murderer of San Valentín, Alejandro Cota Quirós continues
00:41paying the crimes he committed in the year 1992 against his entire family, whom he murdered
00:49with the help of his accomplices.
00:51Although it is no justification, Cota Quirós commented in an interview the reasons for
00:56his crimes.
00:58According to his relatives, they were abusive to him since he was little, so he took refuge
01:03in the streets and survived committing various illegal acts.
01:20After a brief attempt to reunite, the murderer of San Valentín took reprisals against the
01:26four members of his family and abandoned their bodies.
01:29They were found on February 14, the Day of Love and Friendship, in the streets of Tlalpan,
01:36Mexico City.
01:37Number 9.
01:38The case of Daniela Pérez.
01:47Once upon a time, in 1992, a beautiful young woman who was ascending in the television
01:53star, Daniela Pérez.
01:55Her role in the telenovela de Chico Poe Alma began to take so much relevance that it caused
02:02the envy of a classmate.
02:05His name was Guilherme, and although he had a co-protagonist, neither he nor his wife
02:10were able to avoid the negative thoughts that began to be gestated by Daniela.
02:15Fearing that their role might lose importance, they agreed to stab the young actress with
02:22scissors and leave her body in some bushes.
02:26Unfortunately for them, they did everything so indiscreetly that there were several witnesses
02:31of the crime.
02:38The murder of the actress in Ascenso became so infamous that she even had her own documentary
02:43and was extremely media during the 90s.
02:48Number 8.
02:49The afternoon of the broken hair.
02:51Surely this is neither the first nor the last time that members of a subculture suffer
02:56discrimination and less at this level.
02:59Ecuador had finally managed to bring to the country metal and rock bands to meet
03:04in the San Cayetano Coliseum in Ambato on March 23, 1996.
03:23In a strange and questionable decision-making, the armed forces and the police organized
03:29an operation in the locations where the massive concert was going to take place.
03:34It was then that they took the opportunity to arrest, beat and disappear several
03:40assistants and bands from the festival.
03:56They broke merchandise, stole and destroyed most of their belongings, from vinyl records
04:02and promotional items to instruments.
04:05Witnesses claim that they even formed the assistants in two rows, and in one of these
04:10they cut their hair to those who had it long.
04:15Number 7.
04:16The crimes of the free university of Barranquilla.
04:19As much as we would like to tell you that this is an urban legend that has gone too far,
04:24it is not like that.
04:26These terrifying events were more than real, on February 29, 1992 a man named Omar Enrique
04:34Hernández López arrived at the police station with a story that seemed to be taken from a
04:38horror movie.
04:45Omar earned the little money he had been selling recycled material, and told that when he had
04:50arrived at the free university of Barranquilla, the guards had tried to kill him suddenly
04:56and had even shot him.
05:05When they went to investigate the institution, the police found 11 corpses of homeless people
05:11whose bodies had been used by medical students in their practices.
05:17The investigations also pointed to a network of organ trafficking, although no one was ever
05:22arrested except the guards, who had taken the lives of approximately 50 people.
05:31Number 6.
05:32The Sierra Chica riot.
05:33The Sierra Chica Penal and its custodians, as well as several inmates, witnessed a riot
05:39organized by 12 high-risk prisoners on March 30, 1996, who took advantage of the lack of
05:47staff during the holy week season to take as hostages some of the workers of the place
05:53and climb to the roof to reveal themselves.
06:05The National Guard attacked them from the outside, and back to the facilities, the rioters
06:10killed a rival gang.
06:12What happened inside was a carnage, with heads literally rolling down the floors,
06:18and screams having to feed on the remains of their companions in the absence of food.
06:35After several days of a hellish environment, tired, without food and exhausted, both physically
06:40and mentally, the prisoners decided to surrender eight days later.
06:46Number 5.
06:47The murder of Consuelo Berrocal.
06:50Unfortunately, mental illnesses do not receive the attention they deserve, much less when it
07:08comes to the most needy populations.
07:12Consuelo Berrocal was 23 years old in 1993, when she murdered and consumed the remains
07:18of her two-month-old son as a result of a mental illness that was never treated.
07:24In 2001, the interview program No One Sleeps made a brief documentary about the patients
07:30who were at that time in a psychiatric hospital with the aim of knowing their stories, and
07:37only then did they find the sad story of Consuelo.
07:51Number 4.
07:52The Ramallo Massacre.
07:54On September 17, 1999, three thieves entered the Banco Nacion and took six people as hostages,
08:03one of whom was the manager of the place, his wife and an accountant.
08:18They demanded that they be given the key to have access to the treasure they were looking
08:23for inside.
08:24And although the owner of the bank did not hesitate to provide the data to the police chief in charge
08:28of the situation, he decided not to reveal it.
08:32Upset, the criminals left the bank in a car in which they also took their hostages.
08:37The police received them by shooting them indiscriminately, in front of all the present
08:43and media.
08:45Both the thieves and the hostages died.
08:49Number 3.
08:50The case of Marita's uterus.
08:52The early morning of August 18, 1990, Marita Alpaca's mother recognized her daughter
08:58in the news, which reported a supposed employee of the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Lima, Peru,
09:04had thrown herself from the heights of the building.
09:07Nothing was what it seemed.
09:10Marita was not an employee or had thrown herself into the void.
09:14She was the lover of banker José Reaño, who had thrown her from the 19th floor after
09:19a fight, and then had paid some hotel employees to dress the corpse
09:26and accommodate it.
09:27Although at first Reaño gave in to the escape, they managed to arrest him, and during the
09:47investigations in which Marita's uterus was key to finding a murder mobile, the organ
09:55disappeared mysteriously.
09:57The eighth criminal room found José Leandro Reaño Cabrejos guilty of simple homicide.
10:04The banker was sentenced to seven years in prison and to pay 200,000 soles for civil
10:10reparation.
10:11The uterus that was actually examined was that of a different body, of a woman who
10:16had never been pregnant.
10:18This was not only a scary crime, but also a sad sign that
10:23a long time ago corruption could come.
10:26Number 2.
10:27The Victims of El Mocha Ears.
10:43Daniel Arizmendi was one of the best-known and most notorious murderers and kidnappers
10:48of the 90s in Mexico for the cruelty of his crimes.
10:53Although he began as a minor thief of car parts, his wealth increased after leaving
10:58prison.
10:59Instead of reforming and aspiring to have a better life, Arizmendi learned to kidnap
11:05people and formed kidnappers to help him in his macabre work.
11:09El Mocha Ears cut not only the ears of his victims, but also other parts of the body
11:15that he sent to his relatives to ask for rescue.
11:30He was finally arrested on August 17, 1998 and sentenced to 145 years in prison, which
11:38continues to be fulfilled today.

11:56The Beast.
11:57Luis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos was an aggressor and serial killer who operated in a practically
12:03impune way from 1992 to 1999, a period during which he ended the life of approximately
12:12200 children.
12:24His horrible crimes were recorded forever in the consciousness of his victims and the
12:29Colombian people, and he is even one of the most infamous serial killers in Latin America.
12:36They captured him in 1999 after a man who lived on the streets managed to rescue
12:42him, who would be the last victim of Garavito.
12:52He was first sentenced to more than 1,850 years in prison and later the time was reduced
12:59to 40 years.
13:01He still died in 2023 as a result of leukemia and eye cancer that he suffered.
