00:00Unfortunately, the U.S. lost in the very last minute,
00:04in the last breath of the game, Nick,
00:07against a Panama team that was very organized
00:09and was able to unolify the U.S. attack
00:13and force a lot of mistakes.
00:15Polisic wasn't a figure.
00:17Tell me, what is your analysis of this game?
00:19We just couldn't break through.
00:20Panama really had the ability to stop the Americans,
00:24and we just couldn't do that.
00:26I mean, we had control the entire game, you could say.
00:28We had countless chances, control the possession,
00:31the entire game.
00:32Panama, one shot on goal.
00:34One shot on goal at the very last minute,
00:37and they made it count, and they scored,
00:38and they walked away with the win.
00:40You could say it's an unlucky game.
00:42Everyone has those.
00:43I think every fan of every team has experienced a time
00:45where they should have scored the whole time, they didn't,
00:48and then the other team squeezed in at the last minute.
00:51It happens, but as much as the U.S.A. dominated,
00:53as much as they didn't have luck on their side,
00:55I can't say they deserved the win.
00:57I can't say they didn't. I didn't see creativity.
00:59I didn't see the kind of finishing needed
01:00to be a championship team.
01:02We lost character. We lost heart.
01:04Yes, we're dealing with a lot of injuries,
01:06but I also saw a lot of good opportunities
01:09completely soured by lackluster touches.
01:11No bueno. Not what you would want to see
01:14from your national team. No way.
01:16I sense a little bit of anger and frustration
01:19nicking your voice.
01:20Do you think this is a sentiment
01:22that will be spreading throughout the U.S. fans
01:26and Pochettino will start feeling the heat?
01:28Because, you know, clearly, although the team
01:30is at the infancy of this process,
01:33you cannot lose in this tournament,
01:34not being the U.S., and you cannot lose
01:36with a mistake like the keeper, Matt Turner,
01:38that otherwise is a very solid goalkeeper.
01:41Uh, this time, he missed the mark.
01:43Do you think Pochettino is going to start feeling
01:45some pressure after this result?
01:48Yeah, I think without a doubt.
01:49And look, we came into this tournament
01:51with quite a bit of pressure.
01:53It's hard being the only winner ever of a tournament, right?
01:56But look, in the Pochettino era,
01:57we spent a lot of money, haven't seen so much, you know?
02:02We haven't had so much to show for it so far.
02:04So without a doubt, look, it's still early on.
02:07I guess there's still time.
02:08But hey, we're like a year and a half out
02:10from the World Cup that we're going to be hosting
02:13here in the United States.
02:14We got to get it together.
02:15That's right, Nick.
02:16And for the opposite side of the bracket,
02:18with Mexico enfrentando a Canadá,
02:21let's go straight with El Chiba Mayor
02:23that is right there in SoFi Stadium.
02:26Tell me, Chiba, what are your impressions
02:28after this great result for the Mexican team?
02:30Nick Marcellino, we're here outside of the SoFi Stadium
02:33right after the matches between Mexico and Canadá,
02:36USA and Panama.
02:37And just like you said, Nick, it was kind of upsetting
02:38to see the U.S. not advance to the final
02:42that everybody was waiting for.
02:43Um, you know, Panama played really good.
02:46They hold back.
02:48And at the last minute, uh, your player,
02:50Marcelino from Pumas, scored the winning goal
02:53to send Panama to the final.
02:55Uh, and the second game, Mexico played versus Canadá
02:59with Raul Jimenez on fire, on fire,
03:02scoring two goals.
03:03The second one, obviously, being an amazing golazo.
03:06Uh, the crowd was energetic.
03:07Everybody was super happy.
03:09Uh, and the fact that 50,000 people showed up
03:12on a Thursday at SoFi Stadium where the traffic is crazy,
03:16it's just a good sign of the Mexican fans, you know,
03:21coming back again to support Mexico.
03:23Yeah, it was a tough game.
03:24Uh, Canadá, I don't know,
03:27they seem a little bit lost in the field.
03:30And I'm glad to see Raul Jimenez on fire,
03:32just like I said it last week.
03:33You know, I said that Panama was upset,
03:35was gonna upset the U.S., it happened.
03:37And I said that Raul Jimenez was on fire,
03:40and Santi Jimenez was on fire,
03:41and that was gonna be the difference for Mexico
03:44on this game versus Canadá.
03:46Now, let's see on Sunday.
03:47We're playing Sunday here at SoFi.
03:49The final, Mexico versus Panama.
03:51A rematch from La Copa Oro where Santi Jimenez
03:54on the last-minute goal, uh, scored
03:56and gave the trophy to El Tricolor
03:59de Todos Los Mexicanos.
04:01I send it back to you, Marcelino, Nick.
04:03Thank you, Chiba. Amazing report.
04:05Nick, tell me, what are your impressions
04:08heading into the finals?
04:10Do you think Mexico is gonna win this game?
04:12Do you think the U.S. is gonna treat the third-place game
04:15seriously, or are they just gonna play, um,
04:18players that need some more minutes and get, you know,
04:21Pochettino to see new faces?
04:22Tell me, what can we expect from the finals day?
04:25I think it's gonna be that latter thing.
04:27He's gonna try to switch things up.
04:28This game, if any, without a lot of pressure on you,
04:31is the one where you can kind of relax a little bit.
04:34That pressure of having to win, I guess, is gone,
04:36and it's like, okay, how do we pick up the pieces
04:38and now move on? I mean, who's gonna brag
04:40about getting third place, fourth place,
04:41or even second place? Let's be honest.
04:43So, what we need to do is try something out,
04:45pick up the pieces, and move forward.
04:47Now, for Mexico, it's a completely different game, right?
04:50We're talking about the finals.
04:52And Mexico, again, a lot of pressure on Mexico.
04:55Chivas would understand that, uh, Chivas, for example,
04:58a lot of pressure because of its history
05:00in the Liga de Mequis.
05:01Sometimes that kind of pressure isn't really justified
05:04because it's not really tied to the current reality.
05:07It's more so the history.
05:08But I think that Mexico can do great, um,
05:12with the U.S. out. As we know,
05:13Canada always shows up against the U.S.
05:15The U.S. always shows up and does great against Mexico.
05:18Panama only shows up against the U.S.
05:20And Mexico's amazing against everyone except the U.S.
05:23So, Mexico has a great opportunity here,
05:25and they can make it count if they really get out
05:28of this kind of dark place they've been in for a while.
05:31And I think they can do it because they have the momentum.
