00:00Brewers, Yankees, they open up, George, in a series, of course, where, again, high expectations as always.
00:08I don't think there's any question that no matter how hurt any team is in New York, there's no excuses.
00:15So, Freddy Peralta is going to make the opening day start for Milwaukee.
00:19Carlos Rodon will start opening day for New York.
00:25I think, look, it's the first series of the year. It's hard to get overanalyzing on this sort of stuff.
00:32But I do think that Milwaukee probably is better than expected.
00:36We can say that every single year. Last year, there were no expectations.
00:39Their manager ends up winning manager of the year.
00:41Freddy Peralta, pretty good pitcher on opening day.
00:44And the one thing that I would tell people is that Major League Baseball does do a good job of trying to keep a lot of the games indoors in the first week or two of the season.
00:53Because it is still early April, late March. It is cold around the country.
00:57But this is just one of those inevitable spots that I think that we're going to get a low-scoring, cold, close game.
01:03Yeah, Sam and I were just talking during the break here.
01:0848 degrees is your temperature for Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.
01:12And they're playing at 3 o'clock, not even 1 o'clock.
01:14So, you're not going to get 48, be a couple of ticks below that.
01:17It's a decent pitching match. It was certainly not the best of the day.
01:21Rodon versus Peralta.
01:22I think Milwaukee is an average baseball team.
01:26Lois Burns last year. You're not going to have Woodruff back at the beginning of this year.
01:30No Adonis.
01:31All right. The lineup is three guys, three or four guys, and that's it.
01:34So, I expect a lower-scoring game here.
01:36I think Peralta will keep the Yankees somewhat in check here.
01:39So, it looks like a 4-3 game somewhere around there.
01:42I don't think you're going to have any explosive in this.
01:44Judge didn't hit at all last April.
01:46Right?
01:47I should say the last March, last April was a big thing.
01:50He was getting booed. Remember that?
01:51He was getting booed last year.
01:53I think because his first month was poor.
01:56Juan Soto carried the Yankees as he got to a hot start here.
01:59Don't have him this year.
02:00So, we'll see.
02:01But, Craig, you know this.
02:03I love opening day.
02:04I love baseball.
02:05I cannot wait for opening day.
02:08Just be on a Monday.
02:09All right?
02:10Be only two days away.
02:11Not going to run until Thursday here.
02:12But I look forward to it.
02:13Can't wait until 3 o'clock on Thursday.
02:16Yeah. It did used to be that.
02:18I remember even doing shows like this on the weekend where opening day,
02:21half the league was Monday, half the league was Tuesday,
02:24and that's kind of the way that it used to be.
02:26But Thursday is the opener this year.
02:28Okay.
02:29So, Orioles, Blue Jays, they will begin this America League East battle.
02:32It's so funny to see a lot of TBDs also.
02:35I think we'll get a better sense of that, by the way, next week.
02:38I don't think we'll have TBDs across the board.
02:40I think we'll know.
02:41But there's really no reason to announce.
02:43So, Zach Efflin will start for Baltimore.
02:46He's the opening day starter there against Jose Barrios.
02:49Charlie Morton will start game two for the Orioles.
02:53Probably some good offensive numbers, George, I would guess,
02:56to open up the series here.
02:58Yeah.
02:59I mentioned I would think so as well here.
03:02I think I've seen that Kevin Gossman is going to go game two for Toronto.
03:06So, that's what they expect there, which makes some sense here.
03:09And he's looked pretty good this spring.
03:11It's a series I'm interested in.
03:13I'm interested in every series at the beginning of the year.
03:15I'm talking American Leagues.
03:17I kind of believe in the Blue Jays a little bit here.
03:20I want to see where Max Scherzer goes here, if he goes.
03:23I think he's pitching today, Craig, if I remember correctly.
03:26We'll see how that thumb is feeling for him.
03:28You want to see how he is.
03:29I think Scherzer is going to be decent at the beginning of the season.
03:31It's as the season rolls along here that I expect him to struggle here.
03:34This is going to Henderson play.
03:36All right.
03:37We heard the manager say here, Hyde said, that he's running out of time
03:40to be ready for opening day.
03:42So, curious about that.
03:43Also, Felix Bautista, they think he may not be ready for opening day as well
03:46as far as being the closer here.
03:48So, a lot of things to look at in this series.
